Eva Carneiro leaves Chelsea

If the players are so affected by the departure of a Physio, that they completely lose faith in the manager who just won the league with them and play like a relegation side then there is something fundamentally wrong with them.
Not really. The impression that was always given off was that Eva was incredibly popular with the players. If one of my good friends at work got treated like she did then I'd lose faith and trust in the manager too. Players are human despite the fact they get paid so much.

Good thing she is gone then, if she was that popular the players sabotage the club because she was treated poorly. And how about we ruin those bunch of bums stealing a living by refusing to train them properly and not playing them. If they think they can hold a club to ransom because a physio was treated poorly and go about it all slyly rather then coming out and saying so, then they should find out what exactly happens to sly little snakes. Honestly, I am absolutely disgusted with them for their behaviour and I would honestly be okay with their careers being ended right here right now.

I think it's far fetched and downright crazy to suggest that the Carneiro episode is the reason for your problems. However, it is hard to argue that Mourinho did create a lot of tension and inside politics in that camp and the thing with the physio was a part of the tension. As is the case with those things, there never is one big reason but a chain of consequences with one thing leading to another.

No-one is saying that she is the reason that everything happened but I don't think it is a stretch to suggest that it was the catalyst. Mourinho's refusal to back down over it and some of the comments that he said afterwards will just have added to the tension. The players will be wondering if similar will happen to them, losing a popular member of any workforce for a terrible reason (one that results in the employee suing) will have a massive effect on the morale of any workforce, office based or a football team. It is nonsense to think that it played no part.

The original post I replied to did.

Is it fair to speculate that this is really how/where Jose lost the dressing room and his job?

I would say that this incident was more a result of the tension at the club than the reason for it. Something wasn't right at Chelsea from the very start of this season.

Was the original incident not a slight against Hazard (and his honesty in going down) as well as the medical staff. None of us know what was said behind closed doors between Jose, Hazard and Eva but with those being 3 of the key names consistently mentioned throughout the drama's this season, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that this was a significant event in the breakdown of relations between certain players and the manager.

I think selling Petr Cech to Arsenal was the final nail in Mourinho's coffin. He hates Wenger more than anybody else on Earth I'd suspect, and he just wasn't right from the start of the season.

It's hard to know what it was (not just Cech but all of Chelsea's transfer activity in the summer was really poor) but something was very wrong even by the Community Shield. The fact they lost to Wenger's Arsenal shows that.

He definitely hates Wenger but I think Benitez is number one on that particular list.

No it didn't, I simply stated it could be how and where Jose properly lost the dressing room... which in turn has (eventually) led to his sacking.
As POF said. It was not the cause but rather the symptom of other tensions within the club that had overflowed from a really shit summer all around.

If (if) players really got angry or whatever at Mourinho and decided to sabotage him, they need to be reminded that they're not playing for Mourinho FC but Chavski FC. They're employees of a multimilion/multiblion/multidirtymoneylion company and it's their fecking job to perform to the highest level. They're sabotaging Mourinho, the fans and the company itself at the same time, which is pathetic and if Roman wasn't stupid he'd get rid of some of those shits that are the responsible ones.

It would be fair to assume that Hazard was affected by the fact that Carneiro got the booth because of the incident involving him. I know I would feel pretty pissed off if I was him, and wonder wtf is going on in the mind of my boss. The whole situation reeks of piss poor man management. You gotta wonder if Mourinho had a bad relationship with her already, and was looking for an excuse to get rid. It's just so irrational.

If she was very popular among the players I think the whole thing would have affected the squad, but not the sole reason behind their poor performance.

We still encounter the same phenomenon regularly. If the players think that the manager is a bellend, they rarely keep performing at their highest level. What would you think, when the manager throws his toys out every single game. His completely irrational blaming of referees, the medical staff or individuals can surely irritate you. At the same time he never really adjusted his tactics. Especially someone like Hazard might simply grow tired of the negativity of the tactics. Man-managment is part of the job and Jose failed at it this year.

Decent effort. :lol::lol:

No one has any idea whether it was the cause or just a symptom, stop drawing definitive conclusions on the basis of pure speculation.
That whole summer Mourinho was gearing up for a fight and getting more and more wound up. I wouldn't be surprised if he had just picked on Eva because he was angry at the club. I suspect the atmosphere behind closed doors just was shit, with Mourinho picking fights with everyone in there.
