Real Sociedad vs Manchester United! That's a tough one. FiveThirtyEight had us as the two strongest sides in the competition, and 1st and 3rd favourites pre-draw.
We managed to get a tougher opponent than City, even though we landed in Europa... piss off

At least we'll be out at the earliest possible opportunity and can focus our attention on the league. If we weren't to win it, then this is the next best possible scenario IMO. I'd much rather go out in February than have it as a distraction for the next 2-3 months, raising our hopes of success only for us to go out at the QF/SF/Final.
Is that just because the rest of La Liga is so poor at the moment or are they really that good? David Silva plays for them now doesn't he?
I hope we play the youngsters. I've no problem dropping out of this competition if it means we'll do extremely well in the PL. We're only 5 points off top with a game in hand.

I would rather face a stronger team. If we are scared of Sociedad, we have no place in the CL.
Watch as this forum builds them up from being what they are now (a well drilled team that's performing above expectations in a very weak La Liga) into the second coming of Heyncke's Bayern.

Not a good draw because it means he’ll go full strength. I’d rather we exit this competition early and concentrate on the league, but I fully expect us to go deep in the cups again and have the squad run in to the ground and win nothing.
At least the match day thread will be ok...with most of the caf apparently not watching...
