Europa League Draw, Round of 32 - we got Real Sociedad

Hoping to avoid Real Sociedad, Olympiacos, Dynamo Kyiv and Maccabi Tel-Aviv.
Real Sociedad vs Manchester United! That's a tough one. FiveThirtyEight had us as the two strongest sides in the competition, and 1st and 3rd favourites pre-draw.

Toughie for Ole. Time to roll out that back 7 again.

Couldn't care less if we win or lose, so at least we're getting a fun team who's not a million miles away.

There's a change they knock us out, because they're having a good season and they probably won't win La Liga.

Europa League is a huge chance for them.

He won't play the kids, we all know he won't. He'll do what he did last time and play our shit senior players with maybe one youngster, that lot will say it's clever to get them fit and then will excuse him not using them in the league anyway.

I'll take Sociedad. I'd rather play a decent team who play football than another dull game in some obscure location.

Very Happy with that draw, if we can't beat the best teams around then i'd rather we are out of the competition to focus on the league, plus Spain isn't bad for travel time etc,

Exciting tie, it would be extra dreary going out of the UCL playing the likes of Leipzig and PSG to then playing Slavia Prague

Something to look forward to now, facing the La Liga leaders :D

At least we'll be out at the earliest possible opportunity and can focus our attention on the league. If we weren't to win it, then this is the next best possible scenario IMO. I'd much rather go out in February than have it as a distraction for the next 2-3 months, raising our hopes of success only for us to go out at the QF/SF/Final.

Real Sociedad.

La Liga leaders.

Is that just because the rest of La Liga is so poor at the moment or are they really that good? David Silva plays for them now doesn't he?

I hope we play the youngsters. I've no problem dropping out of this competition if it means we'll do extremely well in the PL. We're only 5 points off top with a game in hand.

Another part of me keeps thinking we can win this competition and should go for it.

Urgh.

2nd leg is before Chelsea away, throw it in the bin ffs. Dont be resting players for EL or it really is Ole out.

At least a proper tie to get excited about. Should be a pair of great matches to look forward to.

First leg in Spain is between West Brom away and Newcastle at home, before the home leg precedes Chelsea away. That's more than fine.

I would rather face a stronger team. If we are scared of Sociedad, we have no place in the CL.

Watch as this forum builds them up from being what they are now (a well drilled team that's performing above expectations in a very weak La Liga) into the second coming of Heyncke's Bayern.

Mate, I don't know how to break this to you but....

Not a good draw because it means he’ll go full strength. I’d rather we exit this competition early and concentrate on the league, but I fully expect us to go deep in the cups again and have the squad run in to the ground and win nothing.
