It's pretty clear there will be no Champions League football at OT next season and that we're finishing somewhere between 5th and 17th this season. What would you prefer - us getting Europe or missing out altogether?

The season after next I believe is the introduction of the new CL format where there are 2 automatic CL spots for teams that have high coefficients but do not qualify automatically for the CL through league position. Think that would've been Arsenal and Spurs if it was introduced this season. No Europe next season could mean we drop down the coefficient list and cause issues for qualifying this way in the future.

Spurs 4th. Think arsenal will finish 5th so it's a battle between us and west ham for 6th.

A season of development after this one, finding the new faces of the team would be interesting. That could be Europa or conference.

We need to clear out a lot of older players and would be good to promote and bed in more youth players next season. As much as it sucks to suck, we need to burn this squad to the ground and start again.

Can’t we just do like all big PL teams did 10 years ago and just treat EL as just minutes for the fringe players and youth, and then save the best XI for Premier League?

It's still very much open. West Ham will blow out as their squad is small and they have europa league to contend with. Spurs will do a Spurs and bottle it and Arsenal aren't good enough for 4th. We are shit but no worse than those 3.

EL of course. Still a good competition and it gives a lot of players some needed time.

CL is slipping away, but we need to keep driving for it. Could finish anywhere from 4th to 8th right now.

It feet fecking shit exiting both cups. It feels fecking shit knowing we have no real chance of silverware, when other teams are scrapping it out. It will feel fecking shit not having any European football, when everyone else is playing in those autumn midweeks.

That first season under LVG was a miserable experience with no autumn midweek football. No Europe and out of the Carabao after one match.

We have to play city, liverpool and arsenal away. We also have spurs and chelsea at home. Considering we cant beat shite like burnley and boro, we have no fecking chance beating the better teams. Top 4 is gone.

Don't give a feck. I don't think we're getting top 4, which is a complete disaster tbh. The rest of the competitions I really am not bothered about. Field the kids.

its Spurs to lose.

We can't win the Eurpoa league either, as evidenced the last few seasons, so literally serves no purpose other than a distraction on a Thursday.

I expect us to finish 5th or 6th and spend next season spouting garbage about being Man United and fighting on all fronts, while not achieving anything.

We need to hit the restart button.

Can we even win the Europa league next year? Without Pogba, cavani, Ronaldo, and others. We'd be left with fecking lingard.

Still fancy us to scrape 4th to be honest, although I think a season without the distraction might not be a bad thing.

I would take the europa with Ten hag coming in. We have had two counter attacking managers previously (Three if you count carrick) so we are trying to change the mentality of the whole team.

Still though we need a new striker, a RB and a two MFs. We lost complete control early on in the second half. Get in MFs that control a game.

Bust with Ten Haag coming in and Rangnick to be given full control on football matters upstairs. We need a great reset.

It's a pisstake if they end up in the Conference. Now they will deserve it because the league table doesn't lie but how is it fair for the sides this competition is designed for to be coming up against that wage bill?

Nope, it couldn't have been Arsenal since they didn't qualify for European football via their league position. That's another condition.

According to this, it would have been Roma (90) and Spurs(88) despite them both being behind Arsenal (98).

Yep, the Thursday night - odd time Sunday match cycle is fecking awful to be honest
Yep, and the winter World Cup would be so unpredictably awkward to plan and work around. Play it safe and focus on PL lest writing off another season again.

Want us to win every feckin game but at the same time i wish we just had the league to focus on for once. Maybe trim the squad and give some youngsters a proper chance to grow into it.

If all the teams around us win their games in hand we will be 7/8th having played the same amount of games.

Without CL football next season, we will struggle to bring in the top tier players.

I can see us in a mid table fight for the next few seasons. Hopefully we fluke a decent coach otherwise we are what Liverpool were pre Klopp ie shite and its going to be a long road back

Obviously being demoted to the Europa League would be a humiliation yet at the same time there aren't many observers of the game who aren't fully aware of United's decrepit state. So crashing out of the CL would be a formality, not a shocking event.

The fork has been planted firmly in the club's back for some time now. We can go all the way back to Moyes as how this happened, but the decision that sealed this season's fate was the decision to extend Ole's contract. The path forward is bringing in a manager with a proven record of success, is in the prime of his managerial career and be given the backing of the club to build the squad for success in two years.

It's gone on the basis that this team cannot string 3 or 4 back to back wins together. Every game is completely in the balance.

I don't know mate... we've been crap for 11 years. SAF and RVP masked it the 12/13, but we've been shite long enough and it doesn't look like changing. We could easily go over the 20/25 years being crap. I'm hopeless ATM.

We've hit that button quite a few times since Fergie left.

Conference, I mean why not? It'd be hilarious. At this point, I find entertainment where I can with this club.

What place do we need to finish to miss out altogether? That’s where we need to finish.

No, we can bring in “top” players without Champions League, but even if it were true look at how shit the clubs transfer strategy has been.

Couldn't care less. Need to focus on getting things right this summer, and then hopefully go for top 3 next season.

Europa or Conference, play the kids. Give them the 6 group matches, and let results be results. Really doesn't matter.

I am fine with the Europa. Its a major European trophy and provides an alternative route for CL qualification, which is better than the usual boring fight for a 4th place finish.

Besides the Europa, not the CL, is our level nowadays.

No point sweating it as fans, we will ultimately get what we deserve. So definitely not top 4.

I think the most likely at this point is that you'll finish 5th. It's simply hard to see Spurs dropping that many points more.
No need to worry about Arsenal or West Ham though.

Hope we lose every game of the season now as it's now Conference League or bust. Nothing more humiliating than the UECL.
