ETH and the new owners - how worried are you?

Nope. As a matter of fact ETH would be a major attraction for prospective owners. We have been so poorly run - even commercially IMO - that there is still much untapped potential to unlock and bring us up to speed with our major rivals.

I doubt the new owners will sack him. What I would be more worried about is ETH not liking the new owners and leaving himself at some point. He's known to be a principled man so if the new owners would in any way conflict with his morality that could be a problem.

Not worried at all. Would make 0 sense to get rid of the one stable/promising factor at the club.

It's always a concern with so many unknowns at this stage. All I can say for sure is that removing Ten Hag or forcing players on him would be up there with some of the most foolish moves I've seen thr club make.

People insisting he won't be touched or compromised as long as we win forget that our form will inevitably drop at some point. That is what the test happens.

Not worried at all. ETH is the most exciting managerial prospect in the world right now. It's like a young Mourinho in terms of potential. I'm pretty sure the new owners will be glad that he is in place, and he himself will probably be glad to be able to sign whoever he wants without constraint. If anything they might be glad there is someone of that level already in place.

Also with regards to ETH in general, the one thing we need to remember is that he is likely to be gone in about 4-5 years anyway, as is the way of modern football. Things might go stale here at some point, or he might fancy going to another club. It happens. Knowing our fanbase I have no doubt that people are already fantasizing about him being the dutch SAF and staying here for 20 years, which we really should have gotten over by now. Also if at some point in the future things end up going bad enough that his results warrant being sacked (End stage Mourinho/Ole/LVG) then we can hardly be upset if that happens, just as we should not be if the Glazers did it.

The issue of our owners, be it JR, Qatar or whoever else, is a much more important and long term issue to be concerned about than ETH.

Basically how worried are you that the new owners will be all Todd Boehly about things?

Deciding from the outset they want their own man and forcing the best man for the job out?
Signing Galatico signings and forcing the manager to deal with it?
Potentially paying huge salaries and upsetting the current harmony?

ETH is clearly building something and while he needs backing in the transfer windows the new owners I hope take a back seat and leave on the pitch matters to the bald headed beauty

I'm not worried at all.

Not worried at all. In fact i would be much more concerned if the current shower decide to stay, thats the real problem that the club faces

You never know with billionaires.

Some may be sensitive and understand who should be at the head of their projects
Some may be assholes who got everything on a silver plate in their lives, and treat every project as a child with his toys

well see
This

I think he'll be kept on, but not given as much time as he might have gotten under the Glazers if he doesn't win trophies fast, especially if the Qataris end up being the new owners. That's not me capping for the Glazers (before anyone starts).

Is this question really all about a bit of 'nerve -jiggling' at the imminent departure of the Glazers?
'Better the Devil you know' etc.... after all it was the Glazers who brought ETH here

Not really worried since he's proven he belongs at this level and there's no manager available that does for us what he does. I share the idea that the new owners should not be involved in player recruitment, but I think there's a big difference between us and PSG. At PSG, they NEEDED those star players. That massive Mbappe contract and even the president of France getting involved in keeping him tells you all you need to know about the state of Ligue 1. They need stars, because otherwise no one outside France really cares. Messi and Ramos in the wrong end of 30 only to create some buzz. Also they have made massive moves that I'm really jealous of, to be fair. Hakimi, FA Skriniar, Donnarumma, Thiago Silva and Marquinhos before he went shite.

Sure, we did this "create some buzz" type transfer with Ronaldo, but the situation was a little different. Our rivals were about to scoop up a club legend (performance wise he's surely one?) and we needed a striker anyways. It was a poor choice in the end but at the time I was all for it. We didn't have a real scheme or playstyle anyway like under ETH to say he wouldn't fit us. I'd say we learned our lesson.

Just because PSG runs in a certain way does not mean we will make these same types of moves as they do. Once again I understand the fear of it, but I doubt it'll happen. I think the new owners will back ETH and give him whatever he wants to succeed. People also automatically assume that he's gone once we go on a poor run but what is a poor run? Seeing as Klopp and Potter still have a job, and I doubt Erik will experience a downfall like that. In my mind he's simply to good to let something that extreme happen.

He also has the benefit of being in not just one but two big competitions. At Paris it's CL or bust because they'll win the league anyway. In the PL, that is not a certainty given the massive competition. Let's say for the sake of discussion, next season he will end up 2nd place and a quarter final in the CL. I don't think they'd sack him for that, but that's just me. I feel like some people on the caf who criticize Qatar for the human rights violations (you are right to do so) also automatically portray them as owners without sense but I think they know damn well ETH is untouchable at this point in time and for some time to come.

Tldr: he's not going anywhere because our baldy is simply too good and the situation is different to PSG.

...Also we don't choke 5-1 leads.

Often the case new owners bring in their own people. However….

ETH is doing a great job and providing he doesn’t fall out with the new owners he‘ll be absolutely safe.

Much of the hierarchy would likely be gutted by either buyer. I actually think SJR would be more likely to interfere with ETH and the footballing side of things than Qatar would. Although Qatar would probably want to make some statement signings, for better or worse.
