ESPN: Michael Carrick rejects PSG move

Well I'm glad he has if this story is true. His role in the side may become marginalised with the arrivals of the Sch's and I don't expect him to be so integral to the side as he was last season, but he still has a lot to offer. He will still get plenty of gametime, as we'll have to manage Bastian's gametime accordingly with his fitness/injury issues. What would be the sense in shifting a 34 year old who is still a class act anyway? I doubt we'd receive much for him.

Short memory some folk have on here. Carrick was our most influential player last season & when he was out injured - we were guff most of the time.

Absolute class player is Carrick. You cant judge him on his pre-season either, as he's always been a bittuva slow-starter for us, but ends up running the show & making us tick for most seasons.

Regardless of all the above - we have a crackin CM squad now - one we all dreamed of, but never thought would happen & now folk want to f*ck that all up by gettin rid of Carrick?

Plus Schweinsteiger isnt exactly gonna stay injury-free all season - sure he only played one game for us & then he was out injured the game after.

Carrick will get plenty of games this season - he's far too important & top-quality, to be sitting on the bench all the time. There's so many games to be played also.

He can play CB also & very well too - which is a position i've always said he'll end up in with us..

Couldn't agree more. He was our most important player last season.

He is also one of Englands best players and has been for some time. Always underrated. He would probably had made a bigger contribution to England as a partner with Lampard or Gerrard than those two ever did.

One of my favorite players. Top class.
