So 150M it is!
120m and Martial should do it.
Given that we probably won't be offloading anyone for decent money in the current financial climate, €150 will probably be our entire transfer budget. We could barely put the money together for Sancho so I have doubts about whether this could even happen.
will he go anywhere this summer?Every club in the world is in broadly the same boat financially.
I can’t see Dortmund wanting to hang onto him if there is indeed a release clause next year - they will cash in while Haalands stock is high and they can command the highest possible fee for him.
it goes without saying that we need to be in for him.
As for whether he would come here, it remains to be seen. But we can make him one of the main men and our star striker, moreso than most of our rivals.
Let's get one thing clear, there's no remote insinuation that Haaland is weighing up a final move in his career. He's 20 and brokered by Raiola. There's a strong chance he will wear a couple more shirts before he retires, at least.Difference in making a development move and "final" move.
Fixed.120m andMartialBeek should do it.
Yeah I agree. I also think realistically Ole would have identified 2-3 positions in the squad he'd like strengthened at minimum, so even if we could just about afford it I doubt we would anyway.I’d imagine that’s over and beyond our budget for this summer, think it’s unlikely we can afford him. Assuming Dortmund would be willing to sell this summer for a larger fee is Haaland going to be desperate to move if options are limited.
Once clause kicks in next summer he has much wider choice of where to go, another year at Dortmund might be more appealing than coming to us or Chelsea this summer.
will he go anywhere this summer?
I can envisage a scenario where him and his agent think if a clubs prepared to pay 120 million this year then they will pay it next year - 60m to dortmund, 40m to haaland and 20m to his agent
haaland effectivley gets an extra £770k a week to stay in Dortmund for a year and his agent gets £385k a week to do the rounds of all the interested clubs and negotiate some crazy wages
Why not bothFixed.
Havertz was said to have been a buy that Roman wanted, not Lampard. There are rumblings that Roman really wants Haaland. If true, he will pay what is necessary for a shiny new toy. Chelsea making top 4 would probabaly need to happen to even have a chance.
That just isn't at all the way that somebody like Woodward is thinking about his job and his options.
Like everybody else, United has lost a massive amount of money in the last year and has consequently seen debt increase and cash reserves dwindle significantly. They are far better off than most other clubs (including mine) but the club is still run and operated as a business, operating within the constraints of its revenue flows, cash reserves, appetite for increasing debt, and additionally the desire to reassure investors since its publicly traded. Woodward doesn't have a magic money tree he can shake and have £150m pounds fall down at his feet.
So what's that about 129m pounds. No way we pay that unless the Glazers have w@nked themselves silly over the superbowl.
I guess Werner could always play fullback.
Yeah most likely....sad.Can't wait for a full summer of Haaland rumors like Sancho last year then last week of the window we activate Cavani's one year extension and move on.
Yeah most likely....sad.
The stocks he sold are worth that much, not to mention the dividends they take each year. If they wanted to buy Haaland they could, but they never invest their money in our Club. Leaches. So what's that about 129m pounds. No way we pay that unless the Glazers have w@nked themselves silly over the superbowl.

Roman Abramovich does.would you invest your own money into a football club? You might because you are a fan, not a business owner.
we lost the right to take the moral high ground when it comes to owners the day we listed on the stock exchange.
Roman Abramovich does.
It's the Glazers that are an anomaly. For many reasons.and he’s an anomaly. It shouldn’t be an expectation.

Good, I also disagree.i disagree. But this isint a Glazer thread, and I’m sure it’s been done to death over the past decade.
Have you watched us play? Rewatch the game vs West Ham. Focus on all the balls that are played into the box in dangerous positions. Look at how we never have a CF in the right place at the right time. And then watch Dortmund the next time they play and focus solely on Haaland and what he does for 90 minutes. He is on a different planet compared to our forwards.
This idiotic "we don't create chances" narrative is proof a lot of posters have no idea what's actually happening on a football pitch.
Chances created per game this season:
1. City 11.7
2. Chelsea 11.3
3. Liverpool 10.9
4. United 10.9
5. Leeds 10.6
11. Arsenal 8.3
13. Spurs 7.9
Thanks for that, Samid. I think the poster is just echoing a certain youtuber who has been pushing this narrative pretty aggressively lately. To say there is no point in signing Haaland because we don´t create chances for our nr. 9, is as meaningful as saying there is no point in signing a defender because we can´t defend.
It goes well with a lot the other gibberish that you´ll get served on that channel, though, such as "Greenwood is so left-footed".
If he was willing to come last january when we looked a mess, of course he'd come now. If we can put the package together to get him? That's where it most likely falls down for me.
Sancho money.
