Man United dealt Paul Pogba contract blow but Erling Haaland ‘dreams’ of Prem move
“Mini! That’s brilliant. Erling, come look at the newspapers. You know, I have been frank with you, Mr Raiola. We don’t always see eye to eye, as we both know. Maybe it’s our Norwegian way; I told you my reservations, and how, for us, money sometimes is a less important thing? This lad’s development, his growth, his career path, sometimes has to be our primary goal? But, in fairness, you know all the tricks…”

Imagine if we get Haaland next summer:

McFred
Sancho Bruno Pogba
Haaland

McFred
Sancho Bruno Rashford
Haaland

McFred
Greenwood Bruno Sancho
Haaland

As crazy as it sounds, I think we should all kind of hope Kane ends up at City so we have a better shot at getting Haaland next summer.

You say that, but what if City get Kane & he's a success & then next summer Haaland joins Real Madrid for example, then what? We've got to hope either Greenwood, Martial or Rashford notch at least 25 PL goals this season & the season after because UTD won't have a truly world class striker whilst City have Kane.

We will be big dogs again for a long time. Hopefully we upgrade on mcfred though.

I think lot's of things need to fall into place for us to get Haaland.

1) We need to have a really strong performance this year with at least a serious title challenge and a good run in the Champions League. He will want to join a team with positive momentum, where he can potentially be the final piece.
2) Clubs like City and Madrid need to sort out their striking situation through other players (for example Kane to City and Mbappe to Madrid). I honestly think he prefers those clubs, but he also would not want to play second fiddle.
3) Ole needs to be able to leverage his relationship with him to convince him to join. So far it doesn't seem like it is major factor, though.

It is not impossible, but I also don't consider it particularly likely either.

Just dumping some random numbers out here:

Haaland for Dortmund: A goal/assist every 64 minutes so far.
Messi for Barca: A goal/assist every 65 minutes.
CR7 for Real Madrid: A goal/assist every 65 minutes.
Mbappe for PSG: A goal/assist every 69 minutes so far.

Let's see what the future holds and hope we sign Haaland next summer. I actually like our chances.

I'd still rather Haaland joins Madrid than City. I don't like Madrid but they're not a domestic rival so not that fussed. It would be annoying to watch Haaland tear it up at City for years to come (assuming his fat agent doesn't start whoring him out again).

To me, I feel this is a done deal. Haaland to United just makes perfect sense. What can the other teams offer that we can't? Our fans just seem to always feel our rivals have a better shot at players.

He has a family friend as our manager in Ole, a fellow Norwegian, he has Sancho here his former partner in crime and the chance to be no9(position, not number he's getting the no7) at Manchester United and spearhead an exciting young team headed for great things. We can pay him well and his brand will be exposed to the largest audience possible. People bring up Bayern but why would he stay in Germany? They can't pay him what we would anyways and then you bring up City, people say because of his father, his father would want the best for his son and for him to build a legacy and truthfully firing Manchester United to the top again would be an unmatched legacy.

Chelsea just signed Lukaku, Liverpool can't afford him, he won't join PSG at this stage in his career and Madrid as much as people think they can afford Mbappe and Haaland in one window, they can't, not seen they'll likely need to sign a CB, and midfielders to replace the ones leaving most especially a 37 yr old Modric. Raiola is the only obstacle really but I feel for Haaland we wil swallow that pill. He's ours lads, I can feel it.

He feels to me like getting Keano all those years ago and RvP more recently - he comes as close as possible to guaranteeing goals and success

That's what I've been hoping for. Even better if they fail to get Kane and we still get Haaland. I honestly wouldn't be too fussed if they get Kane. I would much rather they have Kane than get Haaland or Mbappe.

Personally I believe it would have been harder to entice Varane here than Haaland.

Having players like Varane, Maguire, Bruno, Pogba, Rashford, Sancho, Greenwood, Shaw etc should make it easier to entice a player like Haaland here.

Kane to City
Jesus to Bayern
Lewandowski to Liverpool
Origi to Spurs
Scarlett to Dortmund
Haaland to Utd

That’s how I see it all panning out.

By selling few fringe players like James/Jesse/Williams/Perrera/Baily, we can buy Touchameni (30M) + Carmavinga(30M) in this window

and adding Haaland next year for 70M, We can have a team like this. We can release Mata/Matic and look at selling Fred if needed.

----------------------------------------------------------Haaland/Greenwood ----------------------------------------------

----------------Rashford/Martial---------------------------Bruno/DVB--------------------------------------Sancho/Amad---

--------------------------------Carmavinga/Hannibal-----------------Touchameni/McTominay---------------------------------

------------Shaw/Telles------------Maguire/Axel------------Varane/Lindelof-------------------------AWB/Dalot----------

-----------------------------------------------------------DDG/Henderson---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why would they have an agreement in place with Dortmund a year in advance?
The claim doesn't make much sense

I do not know the details. We structured the Pulisic deal in advance and did a loan back. Dortmund would benefit from getting a large amount now rather than wait. It could be crap.

Seeing as his release clause isn’t active until the end of the season and Dortmund have refused anyone talking to Haaland this season I don’t believe it at all, with the salary caps coming into affect and Madrid already in financial trouble yet desperate for Mbappe I believe it even less.

On a free Mbappe will easily get at least £500K a week plus a signing on fee that’ll probably shatter all before him then there’s agents fees. I know Bale’s contract is up in the summer but Mbappe will basically take those if not more on a free, I don’t see Haaland going to Spain until his mid to late 20’s so 4-5 years as it’s an easier league physically.

We don’t have the balls to these types of deals.

he won't join PSG at this stage in his career and Madrid as much as people think they can afford Mbappe and Garland in one window

Mbappe and Judy Garland leading the line at the Bernabeu together  They should sign Martial aswell, get Toto in the mix.

All a bit pointless when its clear we can't shift the deadwood. It's pure fantasy.

Your hand was forced in relation to the possible transfer ban.

A deal which involves a high fee and Haaland staying there until the summer makes no sense, the only ones actually gaining from it is Dortmund...He's either way leaving next summer when his buyout clause kicks in, Raiola&Haaland senior have no interest in only negotiating Erlings transfer with one club. Lower transfer fee = More clubs able to compete for his signature -> better chances for Raiola&Co to control the terms -> higher wages and larger cuts of any new deals, either contract extensions or transfers.

With the player and not with Dortmund.

Everyone who wants to sign Haaland has that agreement in place with Dortmund, a year in advance.

Anyone can pay the buy out clause so all that is bollocks....it's going to come down to who is willing to pay him the biggest wage and who is willing to pay Mino the biggest transfer bonus.

It may be temping however for Haaland to go to Madrid if they put a signing in place for Mbappe come January. If not, the sporting side of Madrid is shit right now.
