Erling Haaland

I am baffled by the assuming that we will have a clear run at Haaland next season. There is nothing to suggest from him that he wants a move to United and better clubs than us will be after him too

Clear run, no, but reasons to think we'll be heavily involved in the chase? Absolutely. City will have Kane, Real and Barca will still be broke and/or have other targets. I think Chelsea are massive competition for him though, especially if they don't buy a new striker this year, but then its Chelsea they still might just buy another next summer because they can.

If we're doing shite by the time next summer comes around its a moot point anyway, we have to be showing progression on the pitch if we're to stand any chance.

Don't rule Barca and Real out so quickly. Their murky finances allows them to pull something out of the hat. If either of them wants Haaland then we have a problem.

A dark horse could be Bayern Munich and it's not that an outlandish idea that they may be in a very strong position i.e. Lewandowski will need replacing.

He's gained 8 kg of pure muscles since moving to Dortmund. From 86 til 94 kg. Machine.

He should grow a beard. Might make him look less in need of a slap.

So if his release clause comes into play next year, how does Raiola get his piece of the pie? Can he demand extra fees on top of the release clause?
You’ll have an asset going at half price meaning far more clubs are in play and the agent has more power to demand higher agent fees and signing bonuses. It’s a dream scenario for him. Haaland will still end up going for 150m just half of it will go into his hands rather than the club.

Is he not going to the Euros or did Norway not qualify?
We did not. Norway hasn't qualified for an international tournament since 2000.

Though there is belief we'll finally get back in with this current crop of players in the next ones.

He's playing in a friendly tonight against Luxembourg, then Greece on Sunday.

Thats a shame, I could see Norway causing some upsets against the big teams.

were the players too young to play for you and to make you qualify or did they play and still not make it?

ie berge Haaland odegaard etc

Berge’s been injured for ages, Haaland’s a recent addition to the first team, and Ødegaard can’t do it on his own. We also dropped points from really good positions against Sweden (twice!) and Romania, which would have seen us through.

A couple of promising 20-21 year olds don’t make THAT big a difference. In fact, Sørloth has looked faar more convincing than Haaland for the NT of late.

A fair mixture. Ødegaard was in from early, Haaland didn't feature until game 5 of 10.

Remember these games were played in 2019.

We also recently changed our coach from someone that while getting decentish results were quite conservative. We now have Solbakken who beside Solskjær is considered the most prominent Norwegian coach and was nailed on for the national team job whenever he wanted (was at Copenhagen for many years).

We ended the group in third at 17 points with Spain and Sweden (21) in front of us.

Do you guys think he's off to PSG next season? They have bailed out Raiola massively in the Donnarumma case where both of them got too big for their boots and this might potentially work as a sweetner for the Haaland deal next summer.

Haaland goes where Haaland wants, not where someone helped Raiola. Wouldn't exactly say they helped him either. Now PSG seems to have locked down a talented future keeper to come in and take over for Navas in some years. Donnarumma gets attached to a better club than AC Milan even if he plays somewhere else on loan first. He's like Henderson has been for us.

And Haaland wouldn't want to play in a (normally) 1 team league at this next stage of his career either. I see Prem as most likely next stop, with a maybe on La Liga.

Never seen a man that looks more of a twat. He reminds me of Johnny 2x4.

Why would City buying Kane stop them buying Haaland next year?

I don't think either Kane or Haaland see each other as rotation players, so them both in the same squad seems a bit ridiculous to me, even for City.
Kane playing behind Haaland should work well, no reason to rotate them.

Saint Guardiola stated City only have £100m to spend and that’s with him believing they would win the CL. Kane would cost all of that and more unless a off the record payment was agreed with Levy. I reckon the Chelsea money will buy him in January. United have little chance of signing him, look at the shitshow that was Bruno and now Sancho. They’ll probably sign Sancho on the last day of the window.

Did you people saw what Raiola tried to do with Milan to renew Donarumma? Asked them 20 million euros as a fee to sign the deal above the 10 million euros per season for his player. WTH.

I don't want more players with him as their agent.

Haaland apparently wants Real, and they want him so can't see anything else happening unfortunately. Supposedly the only reason they wanted to wait for next year was because they want Mbeppe this year, but now looks like he might do an extra year at PSG, so the Haaland schedule probably gets moved forward.

According to who?
I've seen nothing that remotely makes it seem like he would prefer La Liga over the Prem at this stage, unless he didn't get a good offer from any team in England.

The contract had run out, the player and the agent had all the power. That fee is essentially his transfer fee if he was tied to a club (and would be higher if so). They were less keen to stay at Milan than sign for a bigger club, but said they were open to staying if they would meet the asking price.

Agent fees are usually split between agent and player/family behind the scenes later, but different for every deal.

And why it was run out? Because they wanted a stupid pay rise surely. That's the main problem. It's the same with Pogba. And we will have the same exact problem with Haaland.

Footballers do not owe it to clubs to stay at them. It's a job, and if you can get better paid somewhere else wouldn't you get that new job?
They sign on to a project/contract and are bound to that agreed period of time, but unless the club can convince them to sign on for a new/extended project/contract then why blame them?

That said, I'm all for capping agent fees, but it needs to be done by FIFA or similar so that all relevant clubs are bound by it.

Smart move in a way. Go to La Liga next, move to the PL for the prime of his career.

Our transfer window playlist for every year:

United are preparing;
United are monitoring;
United are considering;
United are close to agreeing.
etc etc etc

He preferrred a career choice over us. It's not like he considers Dortmund above United.
