Erling Haaland / signs for Dortmund

Seems like a De Ligt scenario big holiday and then disappointment for the many. Not too surprising considering the only thing De Ligt and Haland have in common is Raiola.

De Ligt to us link died quite abruptly when we briefed the media we aren't in the running. It's not really the case with Haaland.

If Haaland does have a €20m release clause, then it would be smart business to snap him up.

Although, I'd much prefer if we went for Werner currently. Scoring for fun this season and his overall play is a lot more polished. Only 23 and supposedly has a release clause which can go to a maximum of €60m (so about £51m tops) so it'd be very good business imo.

At the age of 19, this isnt the most important thing at all. He have time to play cl football later. And it's still possible United will play in champions league next season. Not likely but possible.

I would agree with your normally, but this isn't a normal personality. He is ultra-competitive, and given the bright start he's had in this competition, he has a genuine chance to break/set some records in the competition that he'll lose out on if he joins a club that's not guaranteed to have CL. The most important thing at his age is to not take any steps backwards and keep competing at a high level. He can accomplish that with a club like Dortmund and he'll still have plenty of time to make the next step up, albeit most likely with a much steeper price. Who knows what he'll end up doing, but I feel it'll be hard for him to let go of the CL, even for just a season and his age.

People do realise that Dortmund are far from being guaranteed a qualifying place for said Champions League next season?

He has a better chance getting them there by season's end than he does joining United this season.

If that’s all he’s bothered about then he may as well join Celtic or stay with Salzburg!

The notion that he’d turn down the best supported club in the world, playing in the (arguably) best league in the world, while receiving the best pay he could hope for is nonsense in my eyes!

You’re right. I was being polite. Norway don’t produce any world class players.
True, so let’s never sign a player from Norway, eh?
Don’t forget Henig Berg
What a stupid thing to say. Just because a nation hasn’t had a world class player before doesn’t mean they won’t in the future.

Northern Ireland are hardly regular churners of high quality players, yet shat out a generational talent in Georgie best.

more established countries might make them more regularly, but to use that as an excuse not to sign somebody? How pathetic
This!

what happened with Keane?
Roy tried (and succeeded) in injuring him on purpose. Said he remembered Alfe-Inge Haaland stood over him laughing when he'd done his cruciates, and Roy, being, being Roy, was not one to meekly forgive or forget. He said years later that he knew if he'd ever got a chance he'd "do him", and one day - he did.

What's this in relation to?

Is it true that the injury ended Alfe-Inge’s career?

Funnily enough I was also going to suggest Celtic, Leicester or The New Saints to people who think he’ll only go to a Champions League team.

Posts like this is whats wrong with the Caf now.
There are plenty of arguments for why Haaland should not be a target for us now. Has nothing to do with his nationality or whatever.
Grow up mate.

I agree - we should not be aiming for 19 year old talents. It's better to wait a couple of seasons until he has established himself in the Bundesliga and is 3 times more expensive.

At that point the transfer fee will be too expensive and too risky, it's better to wait until He's almost retired.

Not worried about this. Ole will clearly know where we stand with Halaand by now.

This signing really is a must. I would prefer a more experienced attacker but it's clear that the club want Haaland. If they can't sign him over the reported competition when the United manager worked with him at Molde and is good friends with his agent, it will be a really bad sign.

This saga is so boring. Back in the day we used to get linked to world class players, not prospects.

If he can’t decide between United, Leipzig, and bloody Dortmund he needs his head checked

It's going to be a depressing end to the season if we don't bring in someone to bolster our attack. Not enough goals and too many injuries to expect anything good to come from this season without reinforcements. I would expect Ole to go all out knowing a poor finish could be the end of him.

Is it true that the injury ended Alfe-Inge’s career?
I feel like people are underestimating the impact of the injury greatly and rightly so, after all who would want to be reminded of an unfortunate event that led to one of the best players to retire. That's why We have PiGMOL these days to help identity a foul when They see it.

Is it true that the injury ended Alfe-Inge’s career?

If Alfe never fouled Roy in 2000, Keane would have never been able to get his revenge and prematurely end Alfe's career, this subsequently caused Alfe to make love to his wife so that Erling could be born. So Erling essentially owes his life and career to United.

This!
What a stupid and pathetic way for him/her to interpret or twist what I wrote. He/her can’t even quote where
1) I said Norway will never produce a world class player and
2) Norway not in the past producing world class players was my reason for being against signing Haaland.

I have an opinion on the player, that’s my right if the person doesn’t agree with it that’s their right. But it’s rather sad when people resort to distorting what I’ve written. Becomes genuinely pathetic when they block me so I can’t quote them directly to call them out on their lies.

Am I reading this right?

You think we shouldn't sign a good young player because he comes from a country who haven't produced world class players in the past?

George Best and Weah fit that critieria. Decent players though....

Edit: I'm probably not picking this up correctly. Either way always to mention the two Georges.

How much are we paying for him i.e. if we do get him? I thought he had €30m clause but now there are reports of €80m deal

Apparently the 20M clause is only for RB Leipzig. Any other club has to cough up a lot.

I think Haaland is a wrong signing. I think Ole will end up having a bias towards Norwegian players and I think it will end up been detrimental... Norway rarely produces world class players, and when it does they are mostly hard working defenders.

It’s literally all you wrote!

Would love to see Haaland signed and put straight into the team. Kid has everything we need in a striker and knows how to put the ball into the back of the net. We then need to find a creative midfielder to create chances for him, Rashford, Martial and James.

Bruno Fernandes seems ideal. The closest thing to Kevin de Bruyne, if anyone can actually get close to hos quality. Would be great with him and Pogba (if Pogba stopped slowing his play)

Not sure, I think the Fernandes thing is done and over with.
