Sign him, play him, slag him!
Quite likely that one of those type teams just signs him themselves and then sells on in a couple of years for a big profit.Don't know much about the lad other than what I've read but it sounds like it's worth jumping on and giving the lad the opportunity to play for a CL/EL team with good youth development like Ajax or PSV as others have suggested.
Wasn't Odegaard also the real deal. What happened with him?
Still too young to write off.Wasn't Odegaard also the real deal. What happened with him?

It's fair to say the initial hype was a bit undeserved though.Still 19 and just played a season in the Dutch League. Not every quality player starts out like Wayne Rooney.
Not his fault at all . It's the people that overhype young players and make them believe they have already made it that are the real problem. How dare he not be world class at the grand age of 19.

19 is the new 29. Haven’t you read the memo? How dare he not be world class at the grand age of 19.
I think him signing for Madrid at 15 was a mistake. Not sure if he got any game time at all, nor what he was expecting to get.I don't think that's a problem for Ødegaard, he seems very level-headed. He was always going to need time though to develop physically. I don't expect him to be a world-beater, but he stands a very good chance of becoming a quality player. He's shown flashes of his potential in the Dutch league. I think he'll need another 2-3 years.

..on a sidenote, how many scouts approximately United employ?
wow that's quite a lot actually, I thought like 20, but perhaps saw it in FM. Nevertheless in total it must be quite some money in salaries, including all the costs... but makes you wonder why are we not signing the next Messi and end up with Fellaini...I read in a tabloid that after the revamp the number of scouts was between 50-60 - think that was almost a year ago

There is no next Messi.wow that's quite a lot actually, I thought like 20, but perhaps saw it in FM. Nevertheless in total it must be quite some money in salaries, including all the costs... but makes you wonder why are we not signing the next Messi and end up with Fellaini...
it was a hyperbole and a jokeThere is no next Messi.
Think he couldn't even break in Heerenven and was benched at some point? I know he's young and all, but there are lads at his age that caught up with the initial hype and even surpassed him.How dare he not be world class at the grand age of 19.
Yes!Sign him, play him, slag him!
I don't know about that, I do know that Erling is meant to be a Leeds Utd fan and dreams of winning the Prem with themDidn't his dad pretty much rubbish his chances of coming here?
Erling himself said that his fathers history will not be an issue when that was speculated.Didn't his dad pretty much rubbish his chances of coming here?
