Erik Ten Hag Press Conference (v Brighton) | 13:30 BST

We just need to support him because these so called journalists are waiting to tear him to pieces. Disgusting lot

If the first presser is anything to go by, the journos are not going to get much out of ETH. Most of the questions were longer than the answers! Part of it may be language related but I can see the negative headlines already as Utd bashing is currently the in thing!

I love this guy already. He's exactly what we need. united fans must give him all the time to succeed because I think he will as long as we aren't getting #tenhagout just because we drop a few points here and there.

I think he'll do his best work during the world cup break in working with the remaining squad and getting them to play his system in their sleep. I predict post world cup, United will look extremely sharp for the rest of the season.

feck the journos, he is there to win games not talk to them.

His long stare of disgust at Wacko Jacko was gorgeous

They are going to bash him anyway so why waste time giving them anything more? Fans just need to stick by him and stop giving these reporters any oxygen - only way to temper things imho.

I could see him thinking why the feck do I have to answer questions from this t**at!? :D

First time I think I’ve ever watched a full manager’s press conference live. He’s an impressive dude. Such an aura of authority. I think the journos might grow to hate him though.
Every manager is different and that is all fine. We have every kind of managers up there. I think after Solskjaer and Rangnick journalist will find it little bit harder with tenHag. Still, he is no vanGaal in terms of authority if we look at managers after Sir Alex Ferguson.

I'd like to think that when Ronaldo leaves we'll start to get more sensible questions rather than something he's already addressed...no wonder managers hate pressers

They always hyper fixate on one thing, Rooney was 90% of all pressers about for a solid year. In every session it's like there is a contractual obligation that one question that must be slightly rephrased then asked about 8 times.

"Any injuries?"
"Who's not available?"
"Are there any selection headaches caused by absences?"

Every manager need time. Every. Unfortunately those who were loudest with their "sack this and that manager" will still be the same and loud. They want to win everything instantly and doesn't understand meaning of process.

Apparently he did not get on well with the journos when he was at Ajax either.

IMO doesn't matter at all what he does in the press conferences/interviews as long as he's putting the club 1st and then coaching the team well on it.

I'd much rather ETH's cut throat approach to the media rather than Ole's we're all buddies approach.

'What do you mean by that'?

He's so brusque. Honestly love him. I'm gonna be nervous on Sunday more than usual. Really want him to start with a win.

I remember how impressed us fans were when RR gave his first press conference. But we all know how that turned out. There’s always the novelty factor with new managers fronting the media for the first time

Every day of the week. At one point, the journalists will think twice about stupid questions when they get the EtH treatment... kinda like Fergie

3:28 is brilliant.

Journalist wants to beat around the bush and have Eric do his job for him. Eric rightfully makes him sound like a mumbling idiot.
He does sound like he has a plan. Football focus is right there and hopefully he will proceed further with murdering the drama out of the club.

This is pure bullshite. Giving managers time for the sake of it isn’t support. Managers have to be good enough and we haven’t had a good enough manager since Fergie. I’m optimistic that Ten Hag is a top manager who will return us to the top but we still need to see evidence of that on the pitch. What you are basically saying is it doesn’t matter how managers perform we will back them.

Came across as no less authoritative than Van Gaal to me. Definitely less zany.

I always find it amusing watching a manager come into the the Premier League for the first time, there is always this look of shock about how shit the English press are in their first press conference.

Klopp finished 8th in his first season with some dire football. Pep finished 4th despite spending something like 200m on an already fantastic City squad. So yeah it takes time to get your ideas across.
