Surely he has connections, why can't he find his own coaches to bring with him? Leaving it up to us to provide him with coaches isn't fecking advisable, case in point Eric Ramsey the most pointless set-piece coach of all time.

Richard keys and Alan Gray are bashing into him, and nigel de Jong is sticking up for him.

The ajax fans reckon he's a one trick pony who hasn't got a plan B and that he makes subs very late, when it's too late. Say he can't get the best out of a bad team.

This is gonna be a bumpy ride.
What Ajax fans are these?

New fitness coach needed as well. Must be worst team in league for ground covered on games.

I think all of the above should be big priority
Midfield has to come first though
100%, definitely need upgrading the midfield starting with a DM, ten Hag will probably sign a midfielder first as he wants to play by controlling the games and we can’t do that without a solid midfield… also signing a DM will automatically make the back line look a bit better.

Sounds like Olé!

Who needs a plan B if your plan A is so effective? How many gameplans have Klopp and Pep? Not to say ten Hag will do this but I'd much prefer us to have a manager who tries to master a gameplan, rather than be ok at a few different ones.

He is very good at adjusting to the players at his disposal.

It's why the nuances of our system have changed with every season he's been here
I remember this post and another where you said you were critical too on ETH. Can you expand on that and whether you think he can take us to the levels of Klopp and Pep?

Ten Hag is a class manager. I definitely think he will be a success at United, although he won't make you title contenders any time soon. He is a class manager, not a magician. Think there are only a few players currently at the club that deserve to be here. If I can be bothered, I will write a more elaborate post tonight about why I think he will be a success here.
Yes! Curious since our season is just over.
Has @AjaxNL made their long post yet?

Considering our other problems, GK is literally our least priority. Could we replace De Gea with a player that’s better at the things Ten Hag and Ralf like? Sure, however De Gea has been good this season. He’s stood up, he’s been a leader (as seen by him doing the interviews + encouraging the team yesterday when Maguire just stood there).

I also think De Gea’s inability to play the way say Allison or Ederson do is talked up too much. I doubt they’d play that way either in a non functioning team with a truly awful back four in front of them. Getting a ball by either Maguire or Wan Bissaka or giving a ball to either of them is like throwing or receiving a live hand grenade.

Its absolutely a massive deal, and hinders our ability to play out the back and play a high line well.

We're a total mess so ten Hag is brave coming to United. At least it'll be a fresh start for us so who knows, maybe we'll improve over next year or two.

Somehow I don't think so, how much did Palace get for AWB?

I agree. Brighton demanded £50m for Ben White, they're letting Dan Ashworth sit on his arse at home for months rather than letting Newcastle nick him on the cheap.

They're not going to sell Lamptey for less that £35-40m I would imagine.

Out:
Ralf Rangnick (interim manager)
Chris Armas (assistant manager)
Mike Phelan (TBD)*
*has to be out, wtf does he do?

In:
EtH (Bald Savior JC)
Mitchell van der Gaag (Bald Savior Apostle)

Unknown:
Sascha Lense (sports psychologist)
Martyn Pert (strength and conditioning)
Eric Ramsay (set piece / specialist coach)
Richard Hartis (goalkeeping)
Richard Hawkins (human performance/sports science)
Michael Clegg (strength and power)? - sound duplicative with Pert
Edward Leng (sports scientist/analyst)

Someone next to Murtough (like Paul Mitchell) needs to assess the other coaches or first team staff categorized in the unknown. The fitness and recovery of the players, and natural body type, has to be matched with/made a collective effort with scouting/player identification and sustained if not improved by training/fitness coaches.

The club needs to stop forcing coaches on the manager. Let the manager select who he wants to work with. If he’s not keen on Armas, chuck him out. I also fail to see where any of the existing coaches, even those Rangnick brought in, have any clout to continue their job, especially the fitness coaches. We look more unfit than when Jose was in charge. Ole was supposed to correct that and could not. Are the players just lazy as feck or is there deeper problems? Not to mentioned this fecked up year with the WC in the middle of the season. What a ridiculous decision by FIFA to allow that to happen. Clubs are going to be injury laden come the new year 2023.

I don't think the club has ever forced a coach on a manager, even when they should have, when Moyes infamously ignored Ferguson's recommendation to keep the existing staff in favour of installing, as he came to be known, "Feck off" Round.

Every one of those useless feckwits need to replaced, they have obviously done a bang up job so far!

Completely new ideas and fresh faces are required otherwise ETH is hamstrung from day one.

Ten Hag needs to be able to bring in who the hell he wants to help him get us back on track… he should be allowed to get rid of who he wants and sign who he wants. He’s definitely bringing in his assistant from Ajax but another important Coach he needs to bring with him is his fitness coach, I’m assuming he has one at Ajax, they look miles fitter then our lot. It feels like we haven’t got one or had one in years… surely people from the board should be checking that staff are doing there jobs properly? Fitness coaches are suppose to make your team fit and raring to go but that’s not the case with us, there all lazy… sack him! Club needs re organising from top to bottom.

It's worth mentioning that he doesn't have a staff, he used Ajax's staff, at the exception of his assistant who wasn't with him at Ajax initially.

You’re the third person I’ve seen suggest this.
we will swap one weakness with the polar opposite. One can’t attack and the other can’t defend. No thanks

I know it's not always reliable, but I wonder what the Moneyball stats system would say who is the best full back available at this time?
