Eric Ramsay joins the first team coaching set up

A new coach in charge of set-plays can only be good news.

‘...joint the best club in the world and the country’

Never fails to make me cringe when we give ourselves these silly accolades.

Good…. now when the set piece takes raises both his arms before crossing it it might actually mean something and not just be for show.

It feels like years since we have been focussing on particular things that have been going wrong, so feels very weird. Also the club statement also focusses a lot that he works with individual players. I have never heard this as a competency specifically, so wonder what means? May be a mix of technical-cum-psychological coach?

We seem determined to grab all of the highly rated British youth coaches. Kieran McKenna, Justin Cochrane and now this guy as a specialist coach.

I imagine United is probably one of the best places you could go as a youth coach with the United ethos being centred around youth. You probably get to have some decent interaction with the first team, as opposed to some other places where they can say “Hes going to Vitesse and that’s that”

Wherever he's been, he's progressed and he is a Spanish & French Speaker. He hasn't stayed long in any roll, which begs the question, has his work been tested for a sufficient period and can he maintain relationships.

Paddy McNair has retired, changed his name, and gone into coaching already?

Am I supposed to be excited hiring another complete novice? I agree we do need a set piece coach ( have we gone almost 3 years without one?) but what exactly on his CV makes him a great signing?

I couldnt give a feck if you are excited by a french man dipping his balls in olive oil. The fact remains that the guy is being added to be a part of a coaching team for a specific area of concern. Does it matter that he hasnt won 3 CLs as a coach? No he is a position coach who has come highly recommended by his peers. He wasnt a name thrown at a dart board by Ole with a fecking blindfold on.

Its all of this nonsense of the gaffer doesnt know what he is doing that does my fecking head in with numpties on here.

No doubt the first set-piece goal we concede this season, the pitchforks will be out for this guy

Eric Ramsay, a young coach joins United's first team setup, from Chelsea. He will be incharge of one-to-one trainings of players and SET PLAYS!

Anybody knows more about this guy?

Hopefully he has a corner apartment :)

The club's making all the right moves so far, Murtough working his magic.

Great to see that our set pieces issue has not been ignored, hopefully this new coach can improve us.

He's not just a set-pieces coach, but much more. He's a very highly regarded coach, both offensively and defensively from the information/evidence at hand. We've also had issues building play against high pressing teams, which is also something Ramsay can potentially help us with.

Apparently Chelsea conceded 0 goals from set plays in the season after he joined them?

Where and how?

Watching that vid - I always hated teachers like this at school, i just wanted to try score a bicycle kick goal at nutmeg my mates

Very good to see that we build up a strong coaching team with progressive, new members
