Just goes to show how a quick CB would transform our play. Just need someone whose not made of popadoms and not as reckless.
Of course he is. Being injured constantly does wondrous things for a players reputation.
No, he’s not a favourite. There are some players you just can’t criticise on here. I got the answer to the question I asked when I first entered the thread anyway. So does Phil Jones have the same reputation then?
Subject your ramblings to a bit of logic my good man.

True but he’s an unpredictable mad man. The type of guy to not score in 5 years then score a bicycle kick in the 94th minute of the last game of the season to win us the league. One problem with Bailly is that he represents minimal attacking threat at set pieces. Not saying that our other CBs score many goals, but still a really top CB has to possess some attacking prowess, I would have thought.
That said, it is still more important for a defender to defend well, and Eric had performed very well yesterday
One striker saying they don’t like being kicked by Bailly is not evidence that he’s a really good defender. People didn’t want to take Deeney at his word that Fred is a liability so why take that seriously? Why would any of our defenders ba a favourite for other players in the league? You replied to a poster who said other premier league players fear Bailly, by saying his absences have enhanced his reputation with these other players. So what does any of this have to do with being a favourite?

I was giving it the benefit of doubt. Rio Ferdinand once said Kevin Davies was his toughest opponent. Almost like people don’t like being elbowed or kicked. The post you were replying provided zero evidence of Bailly being feared by strikers anyway.
Vinnie Jones was feared. It didn’t make him a good player. Where is the evidence Bailly is so feared among his peers? It is evidence that he is feared which was the point.
At this point your argument has evolved into three different iterations: A - That Bailly is respected because of his long absences; when confronted with a lack of respect for other similarly absent players you pivoted to B - That Bailly is respected because he is a fan favourite; and when confronted with the fact that opposing players have no reason to have favourites, you pivoted to C - that we should not listen to those who say they fear/respect Bailly anyway.
This suggests that you are simply resolute in not liking the player and will not accept any evidence of his being a good player.

3 league games. 8 goals conceded. Nobody doubts he’s good enough to play against Luton or Brighton reserves.4 clean sheets in 7 appearances. Pretty good for a defender that "can't defend"
The game yesterday was made for him. Not many attackers but many 1v1 he thrives on that. Was the best player in the pitch last night with Matic.4 clean sheets in 7 appearances. Pretty good for a defender that "can't defend"
His highest level is the best at our club, simple.3 league games. 8 goals conceded. Nobody doubts he’s good enough to play against Luton or Brighton reserves.
Yep, and it allows us to play more aggressively. With Lindelof/Maguire we always have to worry about counter attacks, but having somebody whos 1v1 dominant is a huge help. It's exactly why Liverpool stepped up a gear once they got VVD.The game yesterday was made for him. Not many attackers but many 1v1 he thrives on that. Rio is one of the best central defenders I’ve ever seen, a lettuce would have offered more of a threat at set pieces, so no, certainly being able to defend is the most essential part of being a centre half. One problem with Bailly is that he represents minimal attacking threat at set pieces. It may be, but we see it so rarely what’s the point? We’ve been here before. I would’ve thought people would learn after four years. His highest level is the best at our club, simple.
He makes no more errors than Maguire or Lindelof, yet when he plays well like he has recently, his pros far outweigh his cons.
His only issues are the big injuries he's had, but hopefully they are behind him.

Learned that he’s sometimes good, sometimes awful and never fit so no point in getting your hopes that he’s the answer to our shit defence. He won’t be. His highs aren’t as good as his fans think and his lows are horrendous. Even in this run of supposedly great form he defended poorly on two goals. This great run boils down to him supposedly being man of the match against one of the worst attacks in the league. The Wolves team that started last night had a grand total of 6 goals between them all season.Learned what?
Because he's had 2 bad knee injuries before that's it you write him off?
He might play the rest of the season, stay fit and be a star. He might get injured in the next match and we won't see him again - but it doesn't mean we shouldn't give him the chance to play while he's here and under contract.
Ledley King was the same and always played whenever possible. Until we get somebody who's clearly better and stays fit then we deal with what we have.
He was bad 1 game ago against Leicester. This not true at all. He is consistent when playing - the one player who was man of the match for many games when he had just come even when Zlatan had scored the winning goals.
It was really interesting to see him try to cover for Maguire and his lack of pace, then switch to his own side. We definitely need upgrades in defence,Just goes to show how a quick CB would transform our play. Just need someone whose not made of popadoms and not as reckless.
hahahahah you call that a bad game?! Vardy had literally 1 chance all match. He was bad 1 game ago against Leicester.

Ledley King was consistently good on the rare occasions he was fit.
To be honest Lindelof would be slaughtered if he cost us the three points the same way Bailly cost us against Leicester.hahahahah you call that a bad game?! Vardy had literally 1 chance all match.
You are just going way over the top to try and bad mouth somebody. Ridiculous.
If Lindelof put in that performance his fanboys would be creaming themselves in his thread for 2 weeks over that.
He’s cost us many goals and points in the past and rarely gets ridiculed in the same way so...To be honest Lindelof would be slaughtered if he cost us the three points the same way Bailly cost us against Leicester.
He is the perfect foil for Maguire too, makes maguire look like a proper ball playing centre back.
I have no fear about Maguire’s lack of pace when you have Bailly accelerator next to him.
Two brilliant games behind him without doing something wierd or wreckless.
If he keeps going in the same way I would nod mind him playing before Lindelof as a partner to Maguire. Quick, strong and ideal partner.
Someone explain to me how that is Baillys fault when McT is the closest to Barnes and can easily get to him but for some reason let’s him come across and take the shot. Worst bit of midfield defending I’ve seen in a while. Even Pogba would be ashamed by it.To be honest Lindelof would be slaughtered if he cost us the three points the same way Bailly cost us against Leicester.

Vardy pulls off he and Bissaka. Simply a good bit of movement. Bailly hardly to blame for that either. He’s is doing what 99% of Cb’s would do Cover the front post run. Vardy is also on his blind side and should have Bissaka touch tight.I guess he also shouldn't have picked up Vardy in the box right
