Can't believe I overlooked Bailly, we had so many good performances today.

Beast of a defender, good to see he didn't take that Watford mess too hard.

Whoever came up with him today got totally blinded by him. Pretty good.

Blind = beaten by pace and power.

Great play today - glad to see you've got a top defender again. Will turn into a real beast for you

Honestly starting to think he could well end up becoming a legend here similar to a Vidic previously, just 22 as well..

The great thing is, he should only get better playing more games :)

Really is very similar to Jaap Stam. Must be odd for Smalling to be in his shadow.

Was good today, but he's still a bit rash for me. That tackle on Demari Gray was a potential leg breaker, in my opinion.

Actually, if @GifLord could find that for me, it'd be much appreciated. Think it was the around the 70th min.

Think hes got it in him to be the best defender in the league this season. Hes got it all, only probably Alderweireld and Koscielny are as complete as he looks. Hope he can keep it up.

Was that the drop-kick-ish tackle? Made me laugh that one, not sure it was a leg breaker, though. Agree that he's a bit rash, and he's gonna get sent off a few times in his career, but I think it's not a huge problem. Vidic always had a red card in him, even at his absolute peak. The type of defender he is, being "rash" is kind of the point.

That tackle when after one of their forward bullied him was great, I couldn't stop laughing and wondering how the feck he nicked it without even touching their player.

Very good prospect. We might have to ride out the odd game this season when his relative inexperience costs him because I think there's potentially a top class centre half here.

Let's just hope people won't say his "shit" again after the odd bad game. He is 22 and newly introduced to the league. So far he is doing very well.

I thought he was superb today, his anticipation is fantastic - he made some outstanding interventions today just by anticipating what was going to happen a fraction before the attacking player even knew himself.

He has an immensely high top end when playing well. Hopefully those sort of performances become the norm for him over the season. He is still quite young and far from the finished product though

Between him and Blind our defence is sorted. Just need Shaw to stay fit and kick on and eventually find a top right back.

Yep. Think we will go for Hysaj next season. Valencia will happily take on the sub role.

Biggest compliment I can give is that he makes defending great to watch. What a beast of a defender.

This place is quite pathetic. The kneejerking and overreaction after every poor performances, rare might they be from a player is downright detestable.

After an awful game against Watford people went nut and wrote all these nonsense about the guy being a mistake and rewriting his previous performances to suit in the then current mood of slating the player, this week the same people are back proping him up again.

The sight of some posts in this thread is IQ draining

What? I must have missed this. The caf is a loony place but I have yet to see anyone discrediting Bailly the way you are portraying it.

Without doubt, a very exciting prospect. He was impressive today. His strength and pace are obvious, but I think he reads the game fairly well also. He'll only get better at that with experience, but he made several really intelligent plays today. He certainly passes better than Smalling. It's great that he put in such a strong shift and was well down the pecking order for man of the match (in most people's minds).

A Vidićesque performance.

That was 'I'll eat a ball if I have to' kind of game. Was everywhere, every header was his, made it difficult for Leicester players, cut lots of their passes, defended brilliantly.

Great signing based on the things we saw till now.

He's had an absolute shocker today. Looked good in the first few games but I'm starting to think it's a fluke.

His passing is shocking, his tackles are nearly always mis timed and he rarely wins any headers.

Blind is a far superior player to him, he must be dropped for the next match.

I'm not convinced by him at all.
To be honest the general comments were about Bailly playing shit and was rightfully getting criticized. only the odd people saying he isn't good enough.

He's so good. Only 22 and only played 41 top division games (21 La Liga division 2)....has huge potential. Brilliant signing by Mourinho

Depends did they just criticise the performance or say he's not a good player in general?

Check out 2 pages ago and see for yourself. People here don't criticize individual performances with any rationality, it has to be one extreme or another. After the Watford game, some people were adamant that he simply wasn't good enough and all his previous performances were being overrated or simply him playing on some adrenaline or whatever nonsense they could come up with just to keep that cycle of revisionism that was going on that day.
