Enzo Perez

If we could get him for around 15-17M I'd consider but 30 is way overpriced.

Could buy him on last years FM for peanuts. Always took the option, therefore, we should go for him (I am aware there is a logic gap in my thinking).

€30 million is his buy-out, I wouldn't be surprised if we got him for around £10 million.

Never seen him play but from what I've read he's an absolute machine in midfield. Started his career as a winger, so will probably have the dribbling ability to go past players through the centre to open up space.

Is this Jan Hagen a supposed portuguese football expert? How is he a victim of Jorge Jesus experimenting? It´s the opposite. Perez came with the reputation of being a very good winger at Argentina top flight, failed miserably and was loaned back to Argentina. Then he returned and Jorge Jesus moved him to CM where he excelled and became one of the best CM in Portugal. He gained from that move, rather than being a victim. It was thanks to that Jorge Jesus move that he now goes to the World Cup with Argentina. If it wasn´t for the fact that he is 28, he would be definitely worth 30 million euros.

The £10 million fee would be good, he's a hard worker and will get stuck in, full of commitment and occasionally some rashness. He did a very similar job to Matic in Benfica's midfield when I saw them. He'd add energy, tackling and closing down with a decent pass, wouldn't expect that many dribbles. In the champions league he averaged 0.8 per game and in the europa 0.5 per game

Argentina international Enzo Perez admits he is aware of Manchester United's interest in him and believes he could be on his way out of Benfica after the World Cup.

talkSPORT last month told you that United have been scouting the midfielder, who helped Benfica claim the Portuguese league title last term.

He has cemented his place in the Argentina set-up ahead of the World Cup and he could now further his career in the Premier League, although United will have to fend off La Liga sideValencia to sign him.

The 28-year-old told Argentine TV station TyC Sports: "There are negotiations between other clubs and Benfica about me.

"I know that Valencia and Manchester United are interested. There are serious possibilities to leave after the World Cup."

No chance we'd get him for that, if we want him it'll be no less than £20m we'd have to pay.

Never watched him, or at least never noticed him. That said, I was impressed by Andre Gomes I think when I saw him in the EL final. Seemed to have a good engine, dribbling ability and speed in central midfield.

This thread reads like this:

Enzo Perez, who? Never heard of him. £25m, too much, 28 y/o, too old. Do not want.

Woodward has missed out on signing him.

fecking hell, Woodward, more nonsense as usual, outbid by Valencia, we're screwed!

Never heard of him tbh nor have I watched Benfica a lot recently.

Is he any good, what kind of midfielder is he, can he play in a 2 player midfield? :)

This guy is mint, I've raved about him on twitter all year. While we are trying [but failing] so far to sign world class/or big names there's some fantastic players out there and Enzo is one. He's very good, technically accomplished, strong and timely in the tackle, great engine for a box to box role, good passing range and all action style, he's made for the PL. Despite his release clause think he can be available for around 15m.

Never seen him play or maybe I have and just haven't noticed him, but if he's a midfielder who's pretty good on the ball, or is energetic and a box-to-box player then I'm all for it. Though anything above €20m for a 28 year old who the majority have never heard of seems a bit much.

He's very easily worth €25m even at 28 yrs old, used to be a right winger but started to blossom around over 2 years ago when he was moved into central midfield, even with Matic in the team back then, he always stood out.

Not great in the first 45 tonight for Argentina, but decent enough. Made a few good runs to support the other front players and a couple of dribbles in field

His first touch was awful at times.

He is playing like the Enzo Perez that arrived in Portugal and was sent back to Argentina on loan in the first season. Enzo Perez plays way better as CM and not in the position Sabella is playing him atm.

Stuck out on the right for most of the night. Pretty anonymous in a game where there was no space at all. Does look like he can carry the ball forward well which could be an asset in the middle.

Not surprised he's been quiet considering where Sabella's played him. Always been poor out wide, stick him in the middle and he's great.

Looked much better vs the Dutch than he did vs Belgium.

But haven't seen him play as a CM much.

Metro are bullshitters so that's almost certainly not true with nothing in Portuguese press either.

Aside from when he's been pushed out wide, he's had a great World Cup. Caps a brilliant season for him.

Looks a tidy player to be fair. Not done much tonight but looked decent against the Dutch.

Great player who will never in a zillion years play for us....if we don't get vidal then we'll go for de jong
