Any new owner of a Premier League club would have to pass the "owners and directors test" there is no chance that a takeover of this size would be done under the radar, no matter what anyones scouse uncle says.
I think more likely Chelsea yes.
@Sparky Rhiwabon and others;
What benefit would Liverpool get in tying up a deal for a player with a fixed release clause before announcing a change in ownership?!
Paying the 106m would be all up front. You’d add the few extra mil to structure the deal over a few yearsWhy would clubs bid £111m if his release clause is £106m?

Do we even know there is a release clause? If so, are there conditions attached? Why are clubs already offering over the clause if its that simple? Don’t clubs have to take each other to court to get release clauses enforced?I think more likely Chelsea yes.

I'm astounded so many people think this. It's actually laughable.Any new owner of a Premier League club would have to pass the "owners and directors test" there is no chance that a takeover of this size would be done under the radar, no matter what anyones scouse uncle says.

We have £30million in bank but will spend £111million on a CM? Sure.
I'm saying that there may not be a release clause, or that there are conditions attached or that it may not be worth the paper it’s written onThat didn’t answer my question
Not saying they've been sold, just that a deal may be in place and the spend has been sanctioned. Just a rumour, but stranger things have happened. I guess 24 hours ago you'd have sneered at the thought of Gakpo being a Liverpool player today.Stop living in fantasy land and dumbing down our own ambitions while simultaneously sucking off Liverpool.
There is no way on this God's green earth that a club as fecking large as Liverpool would have a takeover done under the fecking radar and consequently start spending money. It's ridiculous and ludicrous. This is not football manager it's real life. Liverpool being taken over would be public news within minutes.
Basically Madrid and Liverpool are the frontrunners...
Martinez, Garnacho and hopefully Enzo…
Argentina!
Amen. Been mentioning it for years. Do we not have a talent scouting network? We keep having our pants pulled down everytime and we keep repeating the same thing every time. When on when will United get there act together and buy some of this potential direct from source instead of potentially dumping 10x their transfer free for 4 months employment with the likes of benfica. If we did bid which we wont , i would still find it hard to swallow 90m profit on potential to portugal.

Yeah, I dunno, probably a bit of paranoia creeping inTrue although everyone seems to be reporting there is one and the fee is quite consistent.
Which is why I don’t see the link with their owners and some kind of covert deal.
I'm afraid Liverpool will lock down the top 4 if they get him.
If we miss out on Top 4 this year the Glazers are not selling a CL level club. Therefore they wont quite reach the selling price that they want. For that reason I believe we will end up with US based consortium.
I was with you on the first part but clearly the US consortium would be more rational at valuing a non-CL club (and hence not pay the 5-6bn). The sheikhs I assume will give the Glazers the money because of the brand value we carry.

PL officials literally sold clubs to journalists murderers and an a blood oligarch from Russia(and only kicked him because of government pressure, not because they wanted to).
The test are a joke, El Chapo could buy a club if he bribes enough officials.
Is the club pulling this £111m out of its arse?
I actually think the opposite. The Sheiks would just be happy to own the club as a plaything. The US consortium would be more interested in the brand and marketing value.

I'm amazed the 120M rumors are still going. There's no way anyone's paying that much for him.
