England vs Pakistan first test thread

When do they offer the light?

:nervous:

Ha ha, they really should have won this game.

They've only had 40 odd overs on a flat pitch.

But anyway, thankfully, we can move on to Lahore still only one behind.

They didn't put enough pressure on us in the first innings imo, with such a big lead and us off to a poor start they could have really dug in, plus they could have declared ealier to try and give them more time to bowl us out, as it went if they have anouth 15 overs they could have done it.

250 was enough runs to defend, and they got caught up with getting Inzi a 100.

Although the flip-side of losing this tour is that if we go to India and lose, the Indian fans(some of them nutters) on here can't claim something special by beating us, as it's already been done.

Every cloud and all that.

I think they played it safe. I think you're right they should've bowled us out more cheaply. But I doubt they were going to give us a sniff. No point. I think being one-nil ahead and making sure this game is safe wasn't a bad tactic. I expect more of the same in Lahore. Last day, runs to chase, all happening.

Interesting, I'll say that much. Then we've got the poxy one-dayers that I don't really give a stuff about.

We need to win the fecking toss.

And it's a good job Strauss is going home. He's been rubbish.

There is nothing special about beating England on our home turf anyway.
Hardly any Indian would brag about that.
I am glad I stood by my prediction of Pak. winning the series:D

It wont be a special achievement as it is..

On a more serious note, it will probabily be much tougher for us because you would have already had the experience and the lessons from the Pakistan tour.

I agree, no need for 5 when we will be 3 up after 3 matches. :)

India. A nation of second world cricket and third world poverty.

Real in the sense of not really.
Real in the sense of "Everyone knows it is the true home of cricket and doesnt need a tag like England where oldies, gay people plus glory hunters off late follow it."

On a different note, did anybody saw the Lara century against the aussies?
Good stuff, No.1 31......still not good as Sachin, he has 34 of them :D

Gays don't like cricket. Except Mark Nicholas. And Amol.

He's 12 runs away from becoming the highest run scorer of all time.

There is still over 2 days left, they could be 200 ahead by lunch tomorrow.

Their bowling doesn't look to hot to me.

We'd do 200 in 2 sessions imo.

Why are you responding to posts from the first test?

Ah, so I've been unghosted on this site then? Very fair and uncensored of the mods on here! More censoring on here than anything seen under Saddam Hussein. Probably. :smirk:

I'm just reading through the whole thread for the first time. The   indicate 'hindsight laughter'. Its lovely. :)
