England vs Iceland

Predicted atleast one upset before round of 16.
Typical that its England.

Fortunately I'm half Welsh.
Come on Wales!

England just aren't a team, one of the weakest teams in the tournament by a distance despite having one of the best teams on paper.
Awful manager
Overrated players.

More like one of the most overrated teams (and not just because they went out tonight).

All the England fans must be dropping their ticket for the QF's faster then the devaluing of the pound. The prices have dramatically dropped on Viagogo

Yeah. The economy is going down the pan and we're pretty fecked in the short and long term but FOOTBALL OMG.
As an England fan, I actually wanted them to go home after the events of the last few days.

Those brexiters can get home and knuckle down on fixing the economic sh!t storm they started

I hope the cockney fam are appy. You've got the all ABU favourites on there and I've never seen such a pitiful display in all my days.

How Kane is playing 90 mins after the previous games is beyond me. The team setup is a joke as well with Sturridge. Ali is comical Ali, how many shots has he ballooned over the bar?

The most awful English performance of my life time. I really don't know where we go from here.

Kane taking FK's  well in Hodgson.

Had a few texts coming in - "Lost to a super market", "Had no idea Iceland felt so strongly about Brexit"

LOL Everyone hates England but you all support an English football club.... always makes me giggle.

Seriously though, England are bad, they did alright actually until tonight, even beat Wales who topped it, but when you have the worlds best league with all the money and still can't make a decent team of 20 odd players its not good. Italy, Germany, Spain who have strong leagues all manage it more often than not.

I can't even blame Roy for that. The players could barely pass or control the ball.

Really?

Roy's philosophy this tournament has been to play four strikers every game and then things aren't working - bring another striker on. What balance did that forward line have tonight? We ended up with three centre forwards when the system we play accommodates one centre forward. Does that make sense? No it does not.

I'm English and I hate England.

England´s tactical set-up in the 2nd half

Alli and Rooney are the wrong way wrong but I take your point. It is idiotic.

Rashford needed to come on with 20 min to go not 2
Yeah, the announcers had even mentioned it about 15-20 mins left that he was next to come on. So each time the ball went out, I expected him to be announced. Methinks Roy was trying to stall to see if Rooney could summon some magic. Should've taken off Kane instead, considering how wank he was.

The inquest after this disaster should be interesting. I wonder how many players were a bit bemused, being fit into the wrong holes. Kane on free / corner kicks was the most egregious, while trying to keep Rooney & Alli in midfield is just another variety of the Gerrard/Lampard conundrum.

Lets not dress this up - Iceland did NOT put 11 men behind the ball, they came here to play and beat us without England creating no note worthy chances. Terrible

I want everyone to take a moment and consider that Kane has actually been discussed as being a £80m player and possible Real Madrid transfer target on here. That just shows how ridiculously overrated English talent can get sometimes.
How can a group of PL proven players lose to Iceland?

Surely every poster here has at least some knowledge of football to know that it's an astronomical insult to LvG to be compared to Hodgson.

English teams don't take the Uefa Europa League Championship seriously.
