England Squad Discussion (The Carsley Era)

Out of curiosity did welbeck return from international football as I can remember he was a bit like crouch in terms of performances really well for England and would still be valuable back up option for us in attack given that toney has gone to Saudi.

It's worse for Chelsea, there are 5 players in the squad from our academy that we let go.

You're right, but still 2 of ours. I expect it'll be 3 eventually if Garner can get back to playing weekly as CM for Everton

Saka, Rice, Palmer and Colwill have all withdrawn from the squad.

Looks like a lot of fringe players will get a run out.

Honestly who gives a feck about internationals

Christ at this rate a Man United player might get called up

Kane whinging "England comes first before clubs".

I'm not sure other players see it like that, especially when a lot of them are not guaranteed a start

I would wager that most players probably care about their country more than their club on an emotional level, since it’s your home vs your job. That’s on an emotional level, not a practical one when they consider the prospect of winning something with their club versus these international matches that don’t count for anything anyway. These are random matches in the middle of the season when the players might be more focused on trying to win stuff with their club. The vast majority of players pulling out are ones that know they will be in the picture whenever a tournament rolls around, whether they play these matches or not. It would be very different if this was a major tournament.

Kane is something of a unique case because the only thing he really has going for him are his individual scoring records so obviously he will want to play as many of these matches as he can and have a good supporting cast so he can have his fill.

Kane can feck off, and so can the Mickey Mouse Nations League. I dont know if there are actually more international breaks these days but it certainly feels that way. Maybe it’s just because I don’t give a feck about international football outside of major tournaments.

Kane reportedly injured ahead of tonight’s game. He might have waited before his needles jibes about the fitness of other players.

How many Manchester United fans are even English? Of course they don't give a shit about England, Harry!

Yeah it's fecking absurd that we've already had two international breaks 3 months into the season right after the Euros.

Just another money making exercise . No wonder the players don't give a sh!t
