Girl, 13, released on bail after guilty plea

More now from Basingstoke Magistrates' Court, which sat as a youth court for the 13-year-old girl who we reported on earlier.

She pleaded guilty to a single charge, accused of using or threatening unlawful violence. No details of the evidence were given.

The case was adjourned to 30 September for pre-sentence reports from the Youth Justice Service and she was released onunconditional bail.

Seven charged under terror laws over protest at Israeli-based firm’s UK site

Police say employees and officers assaulted during protest at Elbit Systems UK building in Gloucestershire

Seven people have been charged using terror laws over a Palestine Action protest at an Israeli-based defence firm’s site, the Crown Prosecution Service said.

The incident happened at the Elbit Systems UK building near Patchway, Gloucestershire, on 6 August. The CPS said it would be submitting to the court that the offences had a “terrorist connection”.

Avon and Somerset police said a group of people forced their way into the building, using a vehicle to smash through the doors, before employees were “seriously assaulted”.

The force said two of its officers who attended the disruption were also “seriously assaulted in the course of their duties”.

Any decent judge would throw out the terrorism charges. Wanting to stop genocide is not terrorism.

The assult and everything else - they ought to do some jail time for that, if that is actually what happened.

How does assaulting the employees of that company and police officers stop genocide?

Wanting to stop genocide can be a very good reason for terrorism. Something doesn’t stop being terrorism just because you agree with the cause.
Not saying this one here is terrorism. Just pointing out that your argument is flawed.

When did I say it does? Although, it could maybe slow it down by a few hours.
Well the implication in your original post and the fact you consider that it could possibly 'slow it down'. We need a facepalm emoji on the site.

Yep, many had the freedom fighters (Mandela etc) down here by us, fighting against apartheid, listed down as terrorists.

And especially the history of the Israel-Palestine conflict is loaded with pro Palestinian terrorism, with the distinct aim to liberate Palestine from genocidal occupation. There have been terror attacks all over the world specifically for this cause.

Yep, sometimes violence is all people have left.

Would you also like a label that tells you which ones are jokes?

Is this a serious question?

On its own this individual incident won't stop genocide but if more people started attacking/disrupting defence contractors that are supplying Israel then it would obviously have some impact on their ability to carry out their genocide.

Would you also like a label that tells you which ones are jokes?
Sure if that would make you feel better? Maybe whilst you're there you could set a couple more up for 'deliberately missing the point' and 'defending the indefensible.' Just to keep things organised.

I don't see how assaulting employees of a company, albeit an Israeli defence company, and police officers makes the case particularly stronger or stops genocide. Impacting machinery that makes weapons - I would completely understand it. It's effectively thuggish behaviour and is no different from what we witnessed in the riots at base level whether you agree/disagree with the political motivation/cause behind it.

You probably need a lie down after all that faux outrage.

Darren Grimes is a piece of shit. He needs to have his comeuppance soon. He is a hate spreader. Some of the replies to his thread are priceless.

Right wing nutter - ‘Why do people keep pleading guilty to this?’

Sane person - ‘Because they’ve broken the law’

Right wing nutter - ‘Prove it’

Same person - ‘Well the CPS have proved he has and that’s their job’

Right wing butter - ‘prove it’

The same stuff was prosecuted in 2011. Darren and his friends were in favour of these prosecutions then, especially when the perpetrators were not white.

Amazing how so many of these people weren't intending to protest riot but just happened to end up there!

A 40-year-old man is jailed for 25 months after admitting violent disorder in Bristol on 3 August.
Mark Bowen, 40, of no fixed address said he had consumed up to 10 pints of cider and claimed in a police interview that he believed he was joining in with a “football celebration”.
Prosecuting, Robert Yates told how Bowen was heard shouting at police: "I hope it’s your [expletive] kids next mate".

And then you have this moron who decided to make it a family outing

A 38-year old man, who drove more than 50 miles (80km) to hurl racist abuse at police during rioting, is jailed for two years and eight months.
Stuart Bolton was captured on CCTV threatening to "kill and knock out officers" protecting a hotel, which was housing more than 200 asylum seekers, near Rotherham on 4 August.
He had driven with his partner and 15-year-old son from his home in North Lincolnshire.

'He believed he was joining in with a football celebration' when the season hadn't started and the World Cup had finished. You can't write it with these folk

Mad how City still haven't been charged for 115 but they got done pronto for 209.

World Cup? Feck me, that's some Elon Musk length session. No wonder he didn't know where he was or what he was doing.

On a serious note, football celebration? What, were they celebrating losing? These dumbasses just don't help themselves, can't even come up with half decent excuses. He definitely said the hamster pissed on his homework as an excuse at school. Well, that's if he ever attended school.

The guy who was pictured looting several shops has been sentenced to 4 years and 8 months.

John Honey, 25, of Park Grove, Hull, who pleaded guilty to violent disorder, racially aggravated criminal damage of a BMW, as well as damaging nine other cars, and three charges of burglary, has been jailed for four years and eight months.

His behaviour during the unrest was "appalling, shameless and violent," according to the deputy chief crown commissioner of CPS Yorkshire and Humberside. Michael Quinn says Honey was part of an "armed mob" who took part in a "cowardly assault" on a BMW car "containing three defenceless members of the public". They were "assaulted, robbed and racially abused" and have been left "terrified and traumatised".
