it's a mute point
I don't really get the Curran hype. They look bang average, and have arguably both regressed at a point where you'd expect them to kick on.

Deserved a century
We should have scored 350 plus here given this pitch and bowling lineup.
We've the completely second choice bowling lineup too so I'm guessing England will chase this.
Not a chance of England chasing. They've got explosive players, but no-one who is in the form to build an innings/let players bat around them.
This is why Root is so vital at this level.
No chance a batting line up like England is going to bottle chasing a sub-par score on a flat pitch two games in a row!Not a chance of England chasing. They've got explosive players, but no-one who is in the form to build an innings/let players bat around them.

This a strategy of playing by the numbers. You know that 300+ wins most games against most opposition and it reduces significantly the chances of a collapse giving the game away cheaply. The way England play mean if they play well they're basically unbeatable because they score 350+ pretty regularly, but are prone to collapses. I would suggest England play the way they do almost out of necessity given the players available to us.Hardik and Pant get 5 overs to bat together on this pitch while Kohli and Rahul were tuk-tuking singles for fecking ages. Literally throwing a bunch of runs down the drain.

It was an anomaly, an unimaginable collapse beyond belief if you will. They're the world champions and the best batting line up in the world though, and lightning doesn't strike twice. Just wait and watch!I'll skip your opinion on run chases after last time if you dont mind.

That's preposterous. Any man worth his salt in cricket would put their money on England smashing this score. The batting line up we have out today is not the best in the world. Not even close on form.
Anyway you seem to have gone for the tongue in cheek angle today so i'll leave you to it.
They should change the rule to something like 'it is the responsibility of the fielding team to retrieve the ball and return it to the wicketkeeper after the umpire's decision. Any runs scored in the wake of an 'out' decision will count if the decision is overturned'.Runs count if given not out on the field as the ball is in play I’m pretty sure, it’s the umpire giving it out that kills the play

I know this is at least partly in jest, but you would genuinely expect this power-hitting, fearless England lineup to chase down 340 on this pitch 9 times out of 10.
Yeah obviously I'm trying to continue my brilliant jinx from last time but yea nothing impossible here. The pitch is absolutely feckall and our bowlers are nothing great. It's basically a recipe for swinging the bat at everything.I know this is at least partly in jest, but you would genuinely expect this power-hitting, fearless England lineup to chase down 340 on this pitch 9 times out of 10.
It was just really playing stupid shots last time out. Your top two played the game like they were playing it on a video game, others just got complacent.normally I’d agree but something is off at the moment, whether it’s the constant bubbles on tour or something else their mentality is suspect at the moment
Not really. Players are still chasing the ball when they are appealing. Its only after the decision is given that they stop chasing the ball.Agreed, but look at it the other way. A team usually has to appeal for marginal decisions, so the bowler and the keeper have to stop. Which means they can't stop the ball from going for runs.
It is definitely one of those they'll have to look at though.
Bairstow is a beast in ODI cricket.
He plays that shot so well. Those two on-drives for 6 were outrageous.
150-4 here we come.
Yes. The quality of bowling by both the sides in these odis have been shocking. Said it in last match krunal is a pub level bowler and shardul is bang average bowler. Kuldeep although bowling decent today still looks way off. Apart from Bhuvi all our bowlers are struggling. England gifted the last match, not sure they will do that again.Utter tripe being served up.
Kuldeep is a big disappointment. Really looked like he’d be a superstar when he came on to the scene, hopefully he can turn it around.Yes.
