England in India 2021

What would you guys do re follow on? Not enforce it seems the popular opinion. England need 4 sessions I think and it’s a tricky call — but they’d have bowled a lot more overs than the usual follow-on which happens after a 30 over bundling out.

I hope Sundar and the rest hang on for at least a session and half more. That’ll put the cat amongst the pigeons a bit.

If they bat out a session, then that pretty much settles the match as a draw. 5 sessions isn’t enough for England to bat again and get India out again.

England have to go for the kill here. We will eventually get our act together in the remaining tests. This is their big chance.. They have to enforce the follow on IMO.

To be fair Jadeja/Ashwin/Whoever else is in at number 7 has been shouldering some significant burden for India for a while now :lol:
 
Looks like its heading for a draw..

The pitch was too flat. Hope its better for the other matches.

edit: just checked .. 2 tests in Chennai and 2 in Ahmedabad.. oof.

So whats a good score? Even if they make 120 in a session, asking India to chase 400 in 4 sessions is risky....

Sundar is a proper batsman.
 
Shame Sundar will be denied a 100 because others couldnt hang on long enough.

Amazing catch but decent-ish recovery by us after 72/4. England will probably bat 40 overs and look to give us around 450 which will be impossible to chase.

If England collapse.. or take a risk and ask india to chase <400 in 4 sessions..

Draw quite likely. Then England win.. India win the least likely outcome for me..

Feel for Sundar.. Had a great chance to get a 100. looked totally comfortable out there.
 
This pitch isn't the one to defend, should keep playing shots or aggressive intent.

That's too much. Rohit is fine as an opener. I rate Nadeem but he's been shit in this match, we are effectively playing with three bowlers in this match.

India in general poor discipline with the no balls in this match. 26 for India so far to England’s 1..

Yeah. England will look to get at least an hour's worth of bowling here. Get a couple of wickets and India will be bowled out by tea tomorrow.
