England - Euro 2021 Discussion | FA chairman: Southgate to be offered new contract until Euro 2024

Anyway, Rashford has been the most dangerous player. Pretty much mirrored exactly what I said previously, he's the only player willing to run in behind, use his speed and attempt to beat players. Him, Grealish and Shaw, have been the best players together but I do think Grealish is getting too close to Rashford and Shaw and needs to stay a little more central.

Grealish is WC at getting fouls. Should maybe look to progress the game at times.

Not really. Because Godfrey isn’t going to be a starting RB at the Euros. Walker, Trippier or James is.
What would be the harm in giving him his debut even in games like this. He's had a very good season for Utd and deserves some reward.

I think Grealish, Rashford, and Sancho could make a very good team. Unfortunately, Southgate has barely played Grealish, but the understanding looks like it is there.

I would just play Mount in central midfield. He has the ability to drive the ball forward, and it is not like we have amazing options in the position.

Id go with this myself with everyone fit

Grealish Rashford Sancho

Foden Phillips Mount

Shaw Maguire White James

Henderson

Ward Prowse is good in midfield. Hope he comes in Trent's place.

Me too. Crazy to think he was left out of the initial squad. With Henderson nowhere near fully fit, Rice and Phillips more holders and Bellingham only 17, JWP should have been called up.

I would have Kane myself, but he needs to stay up the pitch.

If I was going for your team, I would probably switch Grealish and Foden. Although, I guess they could switch through the match, anyway.

don't need glasses to tell me pretty much anyone is better than pickford: Pope when fit, Johnstone and Hendo now. Did you see pickford flapping al over the place against Austria?

Pope is injured, Henderson is Pickford lite at the moment. Sam Johnstone… come on.

I doubt there’s anyone claiming him to be a great keeper - but like it or not, he’s the best of the keepers we have.

He's not called Penandes because he just takes penalties.
I'm pretty sure that's because when it comes to United, fans of other clubs don't really understand how fouls inside the 18 yard box work.

Rashford must start on the bench for England. He's absolutely useless when he's playing like this.

The more I see JWP in central midfield allowing Grealish to do his thing as a 10, the more I want to make a knee-jerk thread on wanting us to sign him :wenger:

I don't see how I'm wrong. He most of the time does things at the wrong time. Most of the time tries things that don't come off and walks around like he's a god on the pitch. We've seen it all season.

He's played 3 or 4 really incisive passes today and tracked back apart from a couple of times. He's been our best presser as well.

As I said he tries things 99/100 that don't work leaves space for 1 or 2 that do. But most of the time it's giving the ball away and messing up good opportunities.

Rashford needs to go get his operation and be ready for the beginning of United Season.
It's very obvious he's in some pain.

Weird that Rio Ferdinand was subject to racist abuse whilst working for BT at Wolves the other week, if it's not about racism but the fact people aren't distancing themselves enough from BLM. Did he walk on the pitch and kneel when nobody was looking?

What an utterly pointless equivalence though. You seem to be thinking I'm saying racism doesn't exist. It absolutely does and we saw it first hand at the Derby last season. Im talking about one act which became synonymous with an organisation in recent years (despite its long standing civil rights association). This was heightened by banners bearing the name of the organisation in stadiums. Im not taking a side im saying how I think the FA could reduce the booing and make message clearer

I can understand why Rashford postponed his operation but on current form, he should not be starting any game for England

Its not 99/100, and attacking play mostly doesn't come off otherwise games would have 20 goals a match. Watch other top class attacking players objectively and its the same for them.

I rate the lad on his day but there’s no way Rashford should be in that starting line up. First half lost ball in dangerous area, Romania get a decent chance. Consistently just makes such bad decisions. He does make stuff happen but then constantly flecks it up. It’s annoying because we have more consistent attackers than him. It’s emperors new clothes again with England and yet we see this week in week out when he plays for us.
