I think agbonlahor is a far more accurate comparison. If you think Rashford on form isn't one of the best left wingers in the world, and a very similar profile to Mbappé and Vinícius, especially having presumably watched him week in week out for over 8 years now, then it's safe to say you are clueless.

Well it's kinda funny when after City drop out of buying Maguire they Pep says they can't afford players like we can.Exactly what I was talking about. But you're the guy who believes Pep and City fake an interest in certain players so that United will come in and overpay for them

People on your side of the argument always bring things down to one thing, goals, and nothing else. It’s bizarre. How many goals do they think Vinicius would have scored playing in that painfully average United team last season if he’s so much better than Rashford? 50 maybe? He has 3 in 28 games for Brazil which might give an idea of how much he’d struggle if asked to carry a lesser team than Real.
I thought it was commonly acknowledged that Southgate’s big error in the last World Cup was playing Foden on the left instead of Rashford. However, as we go into another major tournament, there are people on here directly advocating playing Foden out of position again, despite him underwhelming time and time again for England even on the right wing. Truly odd.
It's become very fashionable to shit on Rashford, and he is indeed having a pretty bad season. But it's also gotten to the point where people underestimate him quite a lot, and will negatively rate performances that are decent or even good. I'm pretty sure there'd also be a lot of frustration with a player like Vinicius if he played for us - it's just that people don't watch him play full games twice a week.
Rashford is clearly not Mbappé level, because pretty much no-one are. But he is certainly also not Agbonlahor.
Depends, psg in a farmers league perhaps, but if RM needed to replace mbappe then he wouldn't.I've mentioned several times that there's no denying that he's having a bad season, but the bolded part of your post is what frustrates me a lot.
Being the same profile as Mbappé also doesn't mean he's as good. Mbappé is the best player in his position, and possibly the best player in the world overall. However, if you had to replace him, Rashford would be among the first 3-5 names on a shortlist.

Firstly I'm sure they would prefer changing their approach than take Rashford, but Garnacho would easily be ahead of him for example. Any up coming youngster would be a better choice. In this world lacking of left sided attackers as you describe, no one has bid for him.Madrid wouldn't need to replace him, because Mbappé and Vinícius both are at their best on the left wing. If anything, one of them could very well grow frustrated by playing out of position next season.
If they were looking at the market for another player, though, who do you think they would prioritize over Rashford? Leao and Martinelli are the only ones I can think of. Son is 32, the likes of Mané and Neymar basically left the football map by going to Saudi Arabia, maybe Kvaratskhelia is another name, but Napoli would ask for so much more than what his real worth is, that I see him staying there for many more years.
Rashford is definitely the best Mbappe profile not called Mbappe. Vini a different type but he’s better than Rashford. Think Southgate has always preferred Rashford as an off the bench option but he’s definitely gone off him, think Gordon will be his new fave after the Euros, ticks all Southgates boxes, runs a lot, minimal outstanding quality, largely bland footballer
Mmh. It's more a case of Foden not being a particularly good fit with England's current personnel. England could realistically look to build a team around Foden, but it most likely would mean dropping Saka, while demanding a lot of Mainoo, probably more than they should right now. Plus, it would require Alexander-Arnold and it would mean no Walker, which again would be another issue since England don't have proven reliable CBs with real paceI agree .
Trying to play Foden and Bellingham in the same team was like trying to play Gerrard and Lampard in the same team.
If he's on decent form yeahSo Rashford should start on the left?
If he's on decent form yeah

If Rashford isn't in form, Foden. Too much of a gap between him and the other options, unless he brings Graelish instead of Rashford - but that would make no senseHe's not though so who do you think should start on the left?
Feel like Palmer will depend on whether Henderson/Phillips can be trusted to be the CM backup to both Rice and Mainoo or not. If not, there's no place for him. He's not a CF, and the euros aren't the time to make experiments like that, when you have a perfectly good backup in ToneyI feel as as if palmer is being a little underrated by southagte and general English public and media, all the talk seems to be on Watkins and toney competing as back up for kane but palmer is technically superior to the two of them and stylistically fits with better with linking up with the likes of saka, foden, Bellingham or mainoo
Rashford can be England's very own Mbappé or Vinícius on that left side.
Does he mean sulky Mbappe?
Does he mean sulky Mbappe?
He has those strengths when he is on it. For some reason he isn't. Just worry for him that there are so many players showing great form he might not actually go to the Euros. However with Southgate you never know, but if he shows the United form for England the fans and media will be right on his case, because if he does go it means somebody they all think should be there has been left out. If he is having confidence issues not going to the Euros is not going to help, but the rest he will get might.Did you read my whole post or just that one sentence?
Rashford in international football can absolutely devastate any right back and defense, especially in Southgate's conservative setup vs strong teams.
Which part of my post do you not agree with regarding Rashford's strengths and the fact that he's right footed translationing better to international football, than Foden on the same side?
Be surprised if Rashford is selected for the Euro’s.Did you read my whole post or just that one sentence?

Agree. He really doesn't deserve to go on form, but we know how Southgate can be. If he went he would be on the bench, just don't think he is actually a good option coming off the bench either.I can definitely see him not going. If you have zero passing ability/link-up play then in that position you need to be a regular goalscorer. Rashford right now seems to have none of the above.
I think the rest will be good for him though, and he’ll have a better year next year.

I'm waiting for you to tell me where the flaw in my logic is, not a single sentence talking about something else.
Did read all your post, the standout part being comparing Rashford to Mbappe ….amazing!
TBH putting Rashford over Foden is ridiculous. Foden can play left or right and barring injury is an absolute certainty to be selected. In either position he’s a mile ahead of Rashford.
If selected, can’t see Rashford anything other than a bench warmer.
Foden is miles better than Rashford. On the left, on the right wherever. Stop defending a player who couldn't give a toss.I compared their profiles, do you know what that means?
Regarding Foden, he's absolutely not better than Rashford on the left. "miles ahead"
Remember when Scholes was pushed out wide for England 20 years ago? Foden on the left would be similar to that. Shoehorning the biggest names into the lineup, disregarding team balance, roles, profiles, passing angles, etc.
But I bet you consider Southgate clueless...

Work rate does matter. If you don't put any effort in ability means nothing in the end.I will defend the truth, regardless of a players work-rate. Typical of English fans to call their coach clueless and then 5 minutes later argue for Foden on the left wing over players like Rashford, Gordon or Grealish.
