I actually didn't read the OP and thought that this thread is more about 'what will happen to him', which is a stay because he will stay for the next season it seems.

I'm still waiting for the Olympiakos game although there are more and more negative rumours floating around ( which I give around 0% credibility, still ).

Have Nahealai and Irwinwastheking turned on him?

If they have, then God help you, David Moyes, now you are truly lost.

91.7% yet 3,000 people will still sing his name at Upton Park next weekend.

would love a season ticket only poll entering/leaving the ground, i wonder is anybody doing one?
I imagine most of that 91.7% would cheer and sing and support the manager and team during a game as well. That's what supporting the team is about. Doesn't mean once the game is over they wouldn't speak their mind.

what credibility do you have to give them 0% credibility?

I'm one, and I'm still 50-50. But that's probably mostly because we look at Chelsea at being so small time constantly sacking managers, and we really don't want to go down that route.

Chelsea sack managers who finish second or win them trophies. That's a joke sacking.

Sacking a manager when we 7th and not going to make top four is justified.

Has the man been sacked yet? Or do the smart boys on the top need to see us lose in CL and against City first?

Almost 1 in 10 voters that want Moyes to stay have the name "Jim" in their username. It could be coincidence, it could be conspiracy, but it needs to be looked at!

You Jims and your love of uninspiring football and lizardesque managers!

From what I've read, the fans at OT weren't singing David Moyes' name. They were only signing 20 times, which actually says quite a lot. Big difference in supporting the manager and supporting the club.

I couldn't hear Moyes' name been sang yesterday. Not on the television anyway.

It happened once, briefly. It was sung by about half of the Stretford End.

Considering the chant rears its head a fair few times per game - it's definitely interesting that it only got one airing. I've still never brought myself to join in once mind.

I think it's definitely evident that match going fans are singing his name less and less.

Ehm, I give them whole 0% because it's my opinion ?

Based on what?

Either something happens or it doesn't. You can be doubtful but to be 100% sure it's false isn't exactly a position of intellectual superiority.

Don't get why so many people think "In my head I've made up that everything they say is made up" is an opinion people want to be seen expressing.

there was David Moyes songs at the hawthorns last weekend and the "every single one of us, will stand by David moyes" got a small airing yesterday.

I'm an ST holder and I'm very much in the he should go ASAP camp. Most of the ST holders around me that I talk to also want him gone - I don't think any of them go to aways mind.

Well... you're doing better then me. I'm starting to genuinely dislike the bloke... which is ridiculous really, and totally daft...but I can't help it.
The people who were still singing, are they in the stay/go camp? i.e. do they want him gone but are just trying to keep positive?

You mean yesterday?

As incredible as the support was, there were no Moyes songs as far as I recall?

Yeah I know that, but surely if they're singing like that, they're trying to keep positive? That's why I'm wondering if they want him gone or not.

Rumours are rumours, you either believe them or not, I don't and therefore I dismiss them as bullshit, no idea what you're trying to do here.

Well I can't speak for everyone - but I know I was singing to a) show support for the club and b) drown out the noises from the Liverpool end. Nothing to do with Moyes, just for the love of United.

The people I mentioned around me who also aren't backing him were also singing (everyone was) - so I'd guess they had similar motivations, but I can't speak for them.

Ultimately, what I took from it overall was that it certainly wasn't a direct show of support for David Moyes or anything - otherwise it could easily have been the "stand by David Moyes" chant. The fact that it wasn't, I think... is quite telling.

Getting so loudly behind the team doesn't mean they back him.

I may be reading too much into it but the lack of Moyes songs from the Stretty seemed more meaningful to me.

Exactly. From what I heard none of the Moyes songs got aired. That must be worrying signs for Moyes IMO because up until the Olympiakos game his songs were heard loud and clear.

Yeah, I know, that's why I asked the question to someone who was there, it wasn't clear by watching on TV.

Premier League Games Lost 7. This time last year we had lost 3.

Knocked out at home to Sunderland and Swansea in the cups.

About to be knocked out by Olympiakos in the CL.

He needs to be given the boot now.

We need a manger who understands football as it is in the year 2014, not this football philistine who doesn’t seem to know a jot about players, tactics or systems.

If he has any decency, he will step down now rather than waiting to be sacked.

As I said before, the only thing that rhymes with Moyes, is Joyless. Although it's perfect it's difficult to make a positive song out of it.

Fair enough.

I reckon the next away game will be more telling.
True.

It sounds bad but he probably needs to lose the crowd to be sacked at this stage, because it seems being awful at his job isn't enough of a reason for the board. It's going to need Steve Kean levels of protest to make a dent, which probably won't happen.

Yep, the West Ham game should be interesting - even more so if we a) lose to Olympiakos and b) are losing in that game too.

I have a feeling it could all turn on Wednesday though, what with all these stories floating around... I think if we go a goal down, it could turn a little bit nasty.

Is it wrong that I sort of want it to turn nasty? I don't wish misery unto our own fans but if he loses them and things start getting really bad, it could have a silver lining.

It was probably the only positive yesterday, Moyes was one step closer to proving to the board he isn't the man for the job.

I think that's pretty rational, and I tend to agree.

I don't want us to lose, but if we do continue to do so then I want it to be apparent that the fans aren't happy with it.

I sort of agree. First and foremost, I want to win.... I want to go to Old Trafford and watch us win.

But if we keep up this shower of shit, I definitely don't want it to constantly be like that 15 minutes at the end of yesterdays game on repeat. As a one off, against the Scousers, it was great... and showed a really passion for the club/team. But I don't think doing it every week sends any form of message... and I'd rather we chanted 15 minutes of "Fergie - sort it out".

Yep. Fergie seems determined to ride the toboggan all the way to the bottom of the hill.

It does have a silver lining. I dont think the club can afford to lose the match going fans. Us on redface mean feckall, the matchgoers are different.

If SAF is thinking about the team then he will advise the board to cut their losses on Moyes. If he is thinking about his own pride then he wont want to admit he made a mistake and persuade them to keep Moyes. The board will trust a lot of what SAF says on this matter I reckon. And that saddens me as I think he will stick by Moyes.

I've been in the stay camp all season, but I'm now really questioning why. Despite our defence keeping Liverpool out in open play for most of the game, we were very clearly getting outplayed, yet Moyes took 75 minutes to change it. His substitutions (or lack of) in multiple games this season has baffled me... If we don't beat Olympiakos, he really should be sacked the following morning.. I do think he'll be given the season in full, but I don't think him leaving now or then is going to make any difference..

I haven't voted on one of these before. It seemed unfair. I didn't want Moyes in the first place, I always thought he was a high risk choice. But, once he was the manager, I assumed that was how it was going to be. So, as there's no fun in looking for negatives every time we play, I wished him luck and hoped for the best. I remember being at a match when Keiran Richardson was getting abuse (from United fans) - he scored, some of them couldn't even celebate it - I never want to be that kind of fan.

As the season wore in, I wasn't seeing any best, just the occaional bit that was less bad. When asked in polls on here and elsewhere I've always said, "if nothing changes," I wanted him gone. In reality, that's still my view. I could yet be pleasantly surprised. Except now it wouldn't be a surprise, it would be a shock. When it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, chances are it's some kind of waterfowl - so I've lost the will to abstain.

I really don't know, I think it would be fair if he went after such a disastrous season this has been, and will be. But we better have a good alternative on the note pad if we sack him.

Anyway, Andy Mitten, who seems like a connected guy, reports that even the board is starting to shake a little now. As well as several players being unhappy about almost everything, regular bust ups, etc. Do a google translate of his latest article (in Norwegian only for some reason).

We've actually lost 9! :( I don't recall us ever losing that many in a PL season (and let's be honest, we're going to lose at least one more if we keep playing like this). It has just gone horribly wrong for the man, it seems that every positive record the side held has been well and truly smashed in embarrassing fashion.

That's pretty awesome.
