Elon Musk's epic bacon adventures

Agreed, I'm not sure what it is but somehow he's founded a company in SpaceX which is way ahead of the competitors. It's not money, because Blue Origin was founded beforehand and they're still about a decade behind plus SpaceX are way ahead of NASA at the moment. Whoever they have designing is a genius, but it's not Musk doing that. Whether he's pushing the business to keep on innovating so is worthwhile is another thing.
A private company being miles ahead of state funded one? Well I'll be.

In the UK and I think across Europe the supercharger network has now been opened to other cars (not all stations yet) - was announced the other day. Interesting move, has a downside but they may bring in additional revenue from the usage and it fits in with the vision of EV adoption.
It was also super nice of Tesla to make sure the connectors were the same as other EVs in Europe.
EU regulations winning out there.

Don't think it's fair to say that SpaceX are way ahead of NASA. SpaceX is one of many companies working for NASA, to do stuff NASA no longer thinks it should do. Maybe it was wrong of them to do that, but NASA certainly does a lot more than SpaceX in the grand scheme of things.

That's fair, but I was comparing in terms of what SpaceX do which is build launch vehicles and they are a long way ahead in that. It's not entirely true there's no overlap as NASA are still attempting to get SLS finished and when they do it won't be a regularly used launch vehicle due to the cost, is years behind schedule, and will have a direct competitor in the Super Heavy.

I do agree that we should be comparing against the other commercial suppliers as NASA appear to be in the process of leaving the launch vehicle sector for now.

He wants to fire 10% of Tesla employees?
SAN FRANCISCO, June 2 (Reuters) - Tesla (TSLA.O) CEO Elon Musk has a "super bad feeling" about the economy and wants to cut about 10% of jobs at the electric carmaker, he said in an email to executives on Thursday seen by Reuters.

The message came two days after the world's richest man told employees to return to the workplace or leave the company.

Tesla employed around 100,000 people at the end of 2021, according to its annual SEC filing.

Yeah I know he started a very limited pilot program in Holland about 6 months and has now apparently expanded to a few other countries in Europe. Long term, it may be a strategic move to offset Tesla's reduced EV market share revenue by using the Supercharger network to charge non-Tesla owners more than Tesla owners to recharge at SC locations, thereby further incentivizing them to switch to Teslas. That would be an expected strategic move for a company that knows it will lose market share in the coming years as all the others catch up.

His bullshit con-artist shtick is great for fooling investors and capital funding but I'd at least say a company like SpaceX sends up a rocket. Holmes knew from day one that her product was all bullshit.

In no way a defence of Elon, his tunnel scam is very Liz Holmes like. And I wish he'd just feck off to some remote island and let the actual professional people of SpaceX run themselves. like all glory hunters his influence is always greatly over represented.

His bullshit con artist fooled a lot of smart people who wanted to work in space/aviation join Space-X

They were one of the most favored places for MIT grads to join for years.

Understanding that space and rockets were cool and selling that dream is his most impressive achievement.

The man has a super bad feeling about the economy

Does he have insider knowledge?

Are the boom times over? His comments have made me wary of investing in the markets

companies that have their entire value based on hype/vibes and no justifiable product for that market value tend to suffer the worst in even mild economic slowdowns. For the likes of elon and tesla, their entire justification for obtaining power/influence/wealth is stock price over product. So if inflation bites and the economy slows, mirage companies are the first to feel it. In any slowdown investors will look for safety and when that happens you look for product value over vibes.

he’s such an insufferable tool, it’s hard to think there could be anything more embarrassing than stanning the world’s richest thin skinned 13 year old edgelord

 He should just refrain. Would avoid getting constantly bitchslapped online.

My Model 3 has definitely gotten dumber lately. It'll brake on autopilot for no reason now, and has so many stupid alarms because it senses things that aren't there. Didn't do that before

Apparently this was the inspiration for the new firmware upgrade

Signing off just as "Elon" in a business email is probably biggest proof so far what a prick he is.

He has gone full on Trump mode now. Trying to pull these kind of nonsensical stunts every other day, knowing he has an army of absolute morons who will defend his every move.

Oh, he's 100% locked in to announce his support for Trump now.

Really surprised to see him like this. Always thought he'd remain this geeky tech guy that just wants to be a pioneer.

But he's acting like a 4chan edgelord. The wealthiest guy in the world. Really bizarre to watch it unfold like that.
