Anyone any idea what article that's screenshoted from?
Not sure (even though it says NY Times in the comments), but there are a couple of other articles that refer to the same situation.

Musk has RT'ed this account if I recall correctly.
One thing I have noticed on the caf (mainly for n my phone) is that the tweets take ages to load so I have to click on them read it and then close the new window that has opened.
A minor irritation but it’s definitely different to how it used to be.
I don’t have a twitter account myself.
two minutes to midnight, it's going ... going ...
Eh? Isn't he about to cross a legal minefield with this one? I know its not the first time he's been so brazen, but I'd imagine the App store would have grounds to remove X altogether.
why its public content
two minutes to midnight, it's going ... going ...
Wait, so does this mean that everyone will now have to view Elon Musk's favourite P accounts, including acounts that literally post child abuse images?
I think it means that if you block someone, they can still see your tweets.
I think it means that if you block someone, they can still see your tweets.
it's basically making blocks the same as mute.
my account is decently anonymous but i've made it private after my employer started firing people over their stance on israel, so this won't change much for me.
I think it means that if you block someone, they can still see your tweets.
It allows him to see tweets of people that blocked him in a more convenient way, I guess, but not everything needs a pathetic motivation. So not forcing people who’ve blocked Musk to read his tweets? What’s the motivation to make this change then?
He has been folding to Turkey and India at every possibility. I wouldn't be surprised if the only reason he did that stupid posturing with Brazil was because he considers their government "woke".And Brazil showed the way

this seems like an inconsequential change, as those Xs could be seen by a blocked user by simply logging out anyway.
They are called Xs now.You can’t see a persons tweets in order if you’re logged out. It’ll show stuff from 2018 or whatever first. Probably the most engaged with tweets I assume.
They are called Xs now.
You should start calling them that to remind yourself what a fecking stupid platform it has become.
The only thing I can think of is that he’s concerned about the dwindling “views” metrics and he’s looking for ways to boost that in a non-artificial way which is important for advert revenue.
I'll be pretty annoyed if Tweets from people I have blocked start showing up on my feed.
Threads look like absolute garbage.
BlueSky decent, but a bit sparse.
I'm still not impressed by the alternate platforms though - which is irritating.
which is really fecking annoying because I genuinely miss Twitter because for all its faults, before he took it over, it was unrivalled for current news and interesting opinions. As @jojojo said above I’d also curated a timeline I enjoyed reading with some really great people who I really do miss following now.Twitter is now Musk's personal play thing that he just allows others to post on and use.
Yep. It's that thing about making it too easy for bots, trolls and stalkers to retweet and run their own version of the discussion around your post. That’s not how it’s working. It’s that people you’ve blocked can still see what you tweet.
Which is kind of ok in terms of you being able to tweet shit that gets people angry but have blocked them because they’re gonads.
Less ok if you’ve blocked someone because they follow you around on Twitter objecting to everything you say, and can retweet you or mention you with you having zero visibility on them doing so.
Block used to be ‘I don’t want this person having any access to me’. It’s now ‘I don’t want to see content from that person’. Which is less than half a job.
Bizarre romance between authoritarian aspects of CCP and weird right wingers has been going on since 2000s. It's not really that unusual, especially considering that he's financially dependent on them.Whatever means woke, specially with Lula. But yes, I know what you mean
If they start to shutting him down, he will reel back all the time. He doesn't criticize China for straight ban twitter. But he has no problem to be quite positive about the regime. I wonder why
Also, is not even about money. If they shut down his favourite toy, what he will do? buy bluesky?
I love that this is is still visible on his page without logging in. The man just can't stop winning. But then now Elon has fixed the problem with fake accounts and bots I'm sure that won't be possible.
