I started hating him when he accused a guy of being a pedophile because he heroically rescued some trapped children before him, and I have only been proved more and more correct with each passing day

The guy is spreading nonstop lies and conspiracy theories to millions of people in order to sow chaos and division, is using his money to buy political influence which he’ll use to further expand his already worrying power, and has started an illegal lottery in order to coax people into voting for an authorian who will destabilize US democracy and the West at large. And you’re surprised some people would take issue with that?
Can’t speak for others but i absolutely despise Bezos. The reason he doesn’t trigger as much seems obvious though. He’s just not as in your face with his personal opinions as Musk and doesn’t share fake news on his personal account, which makes the manipulation much more obvious and tied to the person compared to operating from the background.
For me it's the racism, bigotry, lies, conspitorial bullshit, his evil anti union way of doing business, the immoral greed and then buying one of the biggest social media platforms to advertise all that and turn it into a bot infested far right wing hellscape in an attempt to radicalise the middle, in terms of acceptable discourse.
I also hate bezos for his avarice and evil anti union way of doing business, but he is smart enough to lay low.

His predictive model is unfortunately phenomenally accurate with respect to recent events. I search for the term "Israeli Genocide" every day and find it in publication outside Europe and North America. This is what that model predicts. Chomsky used a different example. The East Timor genocide which the US also supported and the exact same result.
Assume free press, and assume threshold for genocide (minimally for ethnic cleansing) has been passed, you also, then, assume an asymmetric level of reports (media) which bear upon this fact. As you may well know South Africa has just filed a five thousand page document of evidence for genocide against the Israeli state at the ICJ. It was scarcely even covered in the Western press.
Now, if the question is: are Western press institutions more free than North Korea (Russia is a useless conflation here), then the answer is yes. But if the question is whether they subsume ruling class ideologies and toe the editorial line qua their own states' geopolitical interests, typically foreign, then the proof, not merely "answer", is without a doubt.
Which derails this thread a fair bit but of all the threads in the CE this is arguably one of shittier ones going.

I’m with you that nothing’s gonna come of it because obscene wealth takes you particularly far in the US, SpaceX makes him very useful of the government, and he’s a petulant man-child they’d worry about upsetting.
But what’s different is him. He is acting noticeably different in this election wave, openly talking about Harris not even being worth murdering, actively promoting the opposition, etc. The Dems can’t do anything about that now as it would be politically toxic. They’d have more political capital to do it after winning the election, once things have calmed down. But the Dems love big business so they wouldn’t go near it.
Has he? I feel like his turn to "Dark MAGA" has only happened in the last year. With that came the lies and disinformation.
