On his way to West Ham. Great signing for them.
Indeed. On his way to West Ham. Great signing for them.
He's only half the player he was while at Chelsea.
If he can't even make it at Monaco how could he even interest anyone ?
Spurs will play him midfield, West Ham upfront ...which is Eidur's better position these days?
Rumour has it that he's lost quite a lot of money in the stock market.

Seriously? Always had him down as more of a betting shop and casinos kind of a fella.
as soon as he signed for Monaco an Icelandic TV station immediately bought the rights to all of their games, and now he's leaving them halfway through the season.
He's at his best when in an advanced midfield position and he's not too bad as a deep lying forward.
I think his poor performances for Monaco are due to him not being as motivated as he should have been. Rumour has it that he's lost quite a lot of money in the stock market.
I hope he uses this opportunity to get back on track.

Makes sense, he probably invested in Iceland.
Icelandic finance is becoming a laughing stock ... first West Ham and now this ...
Maybe so. But then again, why would he want to be caught up in a relegation scrap rather than joining a team that currently sits in 4th place?I don't understand why he would want to go to spurs. At least with West Ham he will play EVERY game. With spuds he'll end up spending half the time on the bench.

Well, it sure beats the possibility of ending up in a relegated team come the season end, especially if he has one eye on the chances for the loan being turned into a longer-term contract in the summer..... I'm sure he'll be hugely excited about the possibility to add the "fourth place in the Premier League" gong to his existing haul of medals.

As for the chance of adding to his haul of medals, Spurs are still in the FA Cup, W.Ham aren't.

When a newspaper here reported it he got furious... which is strange for such mild mannered man. It was also implied that he was still betting quite heavily.

Yeah but West Ham could win the Championship next season, that's a league title!
Definitely leaving Stoke as soon as he can, weather he get's sold or buys out his contract himself. He's then gonna give us an exclusive interview where he will say things about Tony Pulis that Santa will hopefully not hear.
So where should he go? Is he needed in the PL? Personally I think Everton could need him. Cahill is gone and their strikers have been really shit. They also play football.
West Ham is out of the question as he received a medical there and then left for Monaco which West Ham didn't like. Sure they might go for him but I think neither party will be up for it.
Wolves were in for Gylfi a bit without actually making a bid. So they have some money on their hands. Personally I don't think he'll fancy them or Blackburn or Birmingham but he chose Stoke to begin with when he had other options so who knows.
He's overweight and past it from the little I've seen of him. I think he'll struggle at PL level.
