Nice to see Kambwala and Aljofree together. One or both of them could save us needing to get a replacement for Varane

Very good start by Gore. Dictating the tempo and looking for that through ball behind the line whenever possible.

30 minutes played. Quite an even match so far, no big chances at either end. United doing better than I expected in the physical duels.

HT 0-0

A tight encounter with both teams defending well. And missing the final pass when going forward.

Gore & Aljofree the standouts for United so far. Collyer & Oyedele with bits of quality too.

Booking for Stockport player for what looked like a textbook red. Studs to shin. Luckily Ogunneye escaped that without an injury.

Williams comes on for injured Collyer. Oyedele drops down to CM, Shoretire moves to the middle.

A decent low effort outside the box from Stockport, Harrison with a comfortable save.

Penalty for United. Williams escapes from the left side and is brought down inside the box.

1-0 Hugill. Keeper saves his penalty, but the striker converts the rebound to the far corner.

Strong play from Kambwala and good vision from Shoretire to release Williams for the attack that led to the penalty.

I appreciate the effort to cut down on timewasting but handing out yellow cards to the trailing team for taking too much time on a throw-in doesn’t make any sense to me.

Best piece of football all night. United play sharp one-touch football with Shoretire finally finding Williams in the box, who has a good shot saved by the crossbar.

Ogunneye has been very good in the second half. Both physically in defense as well as using his technique and pace going forward.

Stockport down to 10 with their captain being sent off after picking up his second yellow.

Gore now having an argument with the Stockport bench. Love how he plays the game, does not back down an inch from anyone or anything.

Looks like another potential red with only yellow awarded.

Wheatley on for Mejía.

Brilliant run from Shoretire from our own box, good pass to Wheatley who finds McNeill in the box but the left foot finish is very disappointing.

Gore had a very good first half but Aljofree has been the best player on the pitch for me.
