EFL Cup Quarter Finals | 18/12/24 - 19/12/24

I think I posted something a while back during this season that Arsenal could do with winning a Carabao or FA Cup (assuming they don't win the league/CL). When we finished 2nd in 2019 and 2022, we won a CL and a domestic cup double so that we weren't empty handed.

Arteta could do with having a back up so that he can say they won something. It'd do the players good as well.
Absolutely agree with this. A trophy is a trophy. Obviously clubs internally will prioritise one over another but as a fan you should live for the success your club has and a final is a final at the end of the day.

It’s all good an well looking down your nose at the things when you’re winning the big pots each year but I find it bizarre we have Arsenals fans acting like the big I am when you consider how much their club continues to underachieve.

Trophy is a trophy. It brings some good memories. SAF always said he would aim for this cup if they had a dry spell as it would get the team used to winning trophies

The problem of course is it's not just certain fans looking down at cups, it's stemmed from the clubs themselves looking down at them and playing kids etc.

It's something I could understand when you are winning titles or Champions Leagues every couple of years, but not something I really understand when you aren't.

It's not just the top clubs doing it now either, it's clubs all throughout the division, and I don't understand that at all. It's now not just cosigned to the league cup either, it's starting to filter through to the FA Cup as well and that's even sadder.

Onana-Bayindir is a special duo.
I think United will come back to win it though

I don’t understand why United aren’t using Eriksen more. He’s great whenever I see him.

Poor Kulusevski will be shackled by Levy at Spurs until he's 28. He deserves much better.

Why isn't Lisandro used as a #6 when his best attribute is his passes? Height aside he can't even handle Brentford and Spurs' strikers...

Forster is a great entertainer

What a beautiful game without VAR innit

I was hoping for a superb Tottenham collapse but perhaps luck is with them and Ange as he hunts for that guaranteed trophy.

"We've seen everything in this game!"

Except good defending. Spurs tried hard but ultimately failed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

At 3-0, I thought about posting "how are tottenham not closer to the top? They seem to be steamrolling teams every other week". But then they showed what they do every other non-steamrolling week. Incredible.

You guys will trash them next week.
Any team with s bit of quality will be able to exploit their weaknesses.

A calamity of goalkeeping errors.
Just proved to Ruben that he needs two top keepers not one tonight, we played ok but Jesus if we don’t sign at least one elite GK soon, we’ll continue to suffer?

Well if I had to choose I'd like Spurs to win and not other 3 teams but don't think they'll be able to beat Liverpool or Arsenal over 2 legs. They can beat Newcastle but need Vicario and 2 CBs back.

Arsenal v Pool
Spuds v NUFC

This please for many reasons, would ensure pool have to play proper team and give Chelsea (lesser of all evils) the best chance in the league.

Also, don't think either NUFC or spuds would win a 2 legged tie v the other 2, but in a final anything can happen.

Poisonous attack? I’m just pointing out your posts make you look silly given your club has won the grand some of nothing lately.

You set yourself up for it.
You think us winning the Carabao club in ten years time will make us seem glorious? While we remain without a CL or a league win.

Fair enough.
Have your balls dropped yet mate. Horrendous wind up.
This also genuinely made me laugh, the insult I mean. Fair play
