Edwin Van Der Sar

My keeper. Never left our side was more save than with him in it. This is not the end for him. He doesnt do endings.

Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery, hopefully it’s a low grade bleed and they embolise him without any issues if it was aneurysmal.

One of the best. I don't remember his age or the transfer fee but his signing, when many thought he was coming to the end of his career, was one of AF's finest.

Thoughts are with him and his family.

Thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this time. Keep fighting Edwin!

Is this similar to what happened to Sir Alex?

Hoping he makes a swift recovery.

Don't know is it posted yet or not, but here are some quotes from Croatian portal Jutarnji list, translated:

The legendary goalkeeper of Ajax, Manchester United and the Dutch football team, Edwin van der Sar, was urgently hospitalised at the CHC Split Neurology Clinic due to a severe headache, and the doctors suspected that it was the so-called subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), which proved to be the correct diagnosis.

Namely, it is bleeding outside the brain, more precisely between the soft meninges, which causes pressure on the brain, and then headaches. The doctors of Split CHC say that this bleeding did not cause brain damage and that Van der Sar is not currently in danger.

Shit mate, hope you’re doing ok and things are better now. x
Thanks!

I was lucky and found a new way of living after 5 years of recovery and disappointments. But It cost me.

Couldn’t take care of my kids when they needed me the most.
Divorced. (cost me a fortune but saved me from a unhealthy marriage)
Sold my company.
Sold my house.
Sold my cars because I couldn’t drive for a couple of years
Couldn’t work for 5 years.
Had to move to another city that could offer professional neuro rehab.

But things changed.

My now grown up kids returned to me. Got grandchildren.
Found a new wonderful wife from Brazil who loved me for who I’m.
Bought a new smaller house and bought a nice place in the sun.
Started a new business.
Become a business consultant helping others in similar situations.
Only working 2-3 hours a day but earning more by being more effective.
Started traveling more. I wanted to see the world before I died. Appreciating other cultures, learn other ways of living.

So I asked myself why work like crazy to become successful when your health is the most important thing you have?

Search for harmony
Find a balance where you’re satisfied with what you have and yourself.
Take care of your family and friends.

Sometimes a drastic change can learn you a better meaning of life. That happened to me.

This has hit me hard. My favourite goalkeeper of all time.

Get well soon Edwin.

Get better! Crazy how relative healthy footballers are to have such horrible problems.
