Eduardo Camavinga / signs for Real Madrid

He is not what we need if the rumoured 433 formation is true. We need a holding midfielder who can play single pivot in a 433. Camavinga is a box to box who likes to run forward with the ball. He will fit a Matic-Camavinga-Bruno 433 midfield, but Matic cant play many games so we are forced to play Camavinga in a double pivot for the most part.

Its not like there are many holding midfielders available tough. Rice and Ndidi are to expensive. Neves is the only player that might fit the role that is linked with us. He doesnt play it in Wolves though, but he has the attributes to play it imo.

The longer this goes the more convinced I am that it's either him or Ole will wait it out for the right player next summer or as has been rumoured go in for someone in the January window but can't see that happening myself.

We've seen nothing so far to prove that was right at all. Just a press rumour that people have liked the idea of and taken it as gospel.

I'd say we've lined Camavinga up to be Matic's replacement.

I wonder if it’s Camavinga or no one for the club if he rejects us and we’ll wait next summer though I don’t know who else is there that we can wait. Surely Neves is a very good and immediate option too?

Neves wouldn't really fix anything, he is very slow and needs legs next to him to compensate for that, he is not a defensive lynchpin that you can trust to do it on his own which is what people seem to be wanting, ''to release pogba/VDB, Bruno''.

Does anyone know why this deal still isn’t done? City are out here chucking away 100m over Grealish and we’re haggling over a few quid for a wonderkid. Ridiculous.
Problem isn't us not wanting the kid but the kid not wanting us. He's holding out for PSG or Spain

We don't know whether;

A) he doesn't want to come,
B) we don't want him or
C) we cannot afford him

or all of the above

Edit: first post on the 100th page, yaay.

or we are a lower priority for him than other clubs for whatever reason and he's waiting to see if his higher options are interested.

If Camavinga’s hesitancy to join any club is based on being convinced about the ”project” and his desire to have an important role (I.e., starting XI), how does that square with his desire to join Real Madrid or PSG?

There‘s certainly no place for him in RM’s midfield now with Madrid, Kronos and Casemiro occupying available slots and with Veratti and Wijnaldum blocking his way at PSG, how can either of those two offer a better playing situation than United?

Why are you so sure about that?
It’s been well reported by various sources that he only has eyes for PSG, and they will only sign him if they don’t get Pogba. Obviously that may have changed now Messi is in the building, but it doesn’t change the fact that Cama isn’t interested in coming to England.

For those looking for someone like that he will be a disappointment. I am looking for someone who can play alongside one of the mcfred and provide a better passing range from deep, so he could do the job. Even if we played a 4 3 3. It would have to be Neves at the base, one of the mcfred providing the legs and one of Pogba or Bruno as the creative force.

We have Paul, Martial and now Varane to help him settle at the club if he wants to come. I'm sure he will find it an attractive place to come and play football and develop his skills, especially when Pogba is his idol. It's now up to us to really convince him. Apparently his agent is also pushing him to do so. Just 20 more days to the window closes, let's see

Thanks for all the responses guys but I have to admit I find it extremely difficult to believe he wouldn’t want to come to Utd. It seems like the sort of thing the media would purport to discredit us.

Thing is we've(apparently)already approached his camp and gotten the message he prefers other destinations. Is he really going to abruptly change his mind at the last minute? And if he does is it worth getting someone who clearly saw us as a worst case scenario which he'd be happy to ruthlessly discard if better offers come calling?

Some people want that. Plenty of others want to continue with two defensively solid midfielders but want to get significantly better ball-playing ability that our current options (particularly McTominay) provide. That's where Neves in theory might work well, playing next to Fred or McTominay to improve our creativity and control without leaving us more open defensively.

I have question marks over whether he's good enough to be the answer, but he is the right 'type' of player to provide what I think we should be working towards.

Don't do Reddit. I rely on proper education which helps identify someone with certain deficiencies.
Are you projecting?
Your posts imply you've been a bit of a narcissistic pleb.

Besides, you're on Redcafe. The maximum IQ here is probably 10, and you're not the 10.

It's just a forum. Calm down and take yourself off to a family gathering ffs.

Ole was apparently a Liverpool fan at Camavinga's age. Get him in the door, get a team spirit going and win something. Things can easily change.

This is the point, he doesn't want to come, the only way he comes is in the last days of the window. Do we wait to see if he comes or not and then have no replacement for McFred if he decides he doesnt fancy it? Thats the gamble you are taking with Camavinga

Oh, I am projecting. I see plenty of you with 10, but don't count all the posters here with an IQ of 10. There are many, many very intelligent posters here who think through what is being discussed before responding unlike you. Fortunately, mine is well into the triple digits.

Why can't people understand that different people will have different opinions about a lot of subjects? Why do people have to come after another poster with sarcastic comments? There is a way to put your point across without being an imbecile. Read my first post, read how the original responder acted, then the follow up by the guy who had no clue to what was going on, then you come into it as well. Like I said in an earlier post, people just want to keep their post count up.

Here, I will make it easy for you as well:

"It is a bad idea to try and sign a player who does not want to be here. Not every player gets their dream club, but signing a player who does not want to be here will just lead to more troubles ahead!"

But he's holding out as long as possible to see if his preferred options are available. Do we really risk waiting till close to deadline day acting like beggars for an 18yr old and possibly get shafted? And even if he says yes what picture does it show that he only joined us as the absolute worst case scenario option? I'm pretty sure Ole didn't cock us a whole summer waiting to see if Liverpool came in for him!!!!!!!!

A lot of people are suggesting that he doesn’t want to join us? I don’t think that’s the case I think he will Jump at the chance to join, It was reported that he had an interest in joining the premier league, I get that Madrid might be his first choice but when he realises they can’t afford him he might look elsewhere and I understand people will say we don’t want to be second choice for players but once they arrive at carrington and play in front of a packed old Trafford then there heads will easily of been turned and they will then realise they made the correct decision and there love for the club will then grow and grow.

So you can't negotiate parallel deals? Maybe we just don't want anyone else.

What is it with you and IQ?

100 pages on a player who is not going to sign for United.
That is par for the course isn’t it?
A potential target could publicly declare his hate for the manager and the club and there are some on here that think he would still sign for us.

This train has never really taken off. It would be nice if he signed but if he doesn't because he wants to go to PSG or Real we will all just board another train . The Haaland one looks appealing

Not just apparently - he has said he had posters of Rush and Barnes on the wall.

Messi joining PSG is a massive draw for any player not vying for his position on the pitch. Didn’t De Jong join Barcelona for that very reason, primarily?

I should think Camavinga will be really interested in PSG now, as will others who would have otherwise gone elsewhere.

If he would jump at the chance to join he'd be here by now you know we'll Utd only start full negotiations with clubs when they get the green light from the player. We already talked to his reps if we got the message that he wants to be here we'd have signed him there's a reason it's all gone cold for weeks
There's reports he'd be open to leaving for free next year and even if he decided to take the only available option to him now what message does it send that we've acted like beggars for an 18yr old all summer who wouldn't hesitate to jump ship in a few years if Spain/PSG came calling? Transfers shouldn't have to be forced on players or we'd have more Di Marias in our team

Imagine if the world was as dramatic as it is in your head.
