Edinson Cavani - (Ex-)Manchester United Player

Again, hyperbole.
He didn't outright refuse, or did he? He was in fact "sulking for a full season" because we got Ronaldo? Is that true? Do you see how these falsehoods establish themselves as lore. It's nonsense.
You calling him toxic is your subjective perception, based on hyperbole and lies.
Mate, I'm Uruguayan and loved Edi to bits way before he joined us. There's absolutely no question he wasn't happy about it and that once Ole's vibes setup turned sour he simply checked out and wanted to leave during the next window.

I've always been mystified at why the club didn't let him go in January, even with the Greenwood news. It was obvious he would contribute the square root of feck all.

He gets remembered here much more fondly than he really deserves. For the first half of his first season (probably more than half to be honest) he was a great option off the bench but was pretty shit whenever he started. It was only from about February that he started playing well when starting games. Then he clearly phoned it in in his second season. Sure the club did do him a bit dirty when Ronaldo came in, but other players get hated on for less.
