You can see him getting fitter and stronger every time he plays. His work and movement off the ball is outstanding. As is his work ethic and commitment to his team mates. So glad for him that he scored the winner, and it was classic no9 marksmanship.

He is going to be so useful in the 2nd half of the season.

Shout out to that poster that argued with me saying that Deeney is better than Cavani.

Thought he was having an average game till before he scored the goal. Was involved in the buildup to attacks, but he missed some of the easier chances.

But my God, that was a sweet sweet strike

Are sky mentioning that Mina clearly was squeezing/pinching Cavani’s right hip? Hence why he was trying to push him off?

or that getting conveniently ignored?
Still that choke slam was way over the top reaction. Don't mind it as we got away with it.

Scores some very important goals for us too.
Those 2 goals vs Southampton were huge. That was a bit of a make or break game for us and we came out stronger and better positioned in the league. This obviously a very important late goal too as we can still win the cup.
Now if only that crossbar vs PSG went in..

I said when we signed him he would surprise many here. It's weird some were treating him like the new Alexis Sanchez or something.

The half chances in the 1st half - the ones from 5 yards out, albeit at a narrower angle.
That wasn‘t even close to an easy chance. He hit it on the volley from looping cross and he still got a clean strike. Most strikers would skied it.

No, he does Ballet acutally
Impressive. Boxer Vasyl Lomachenko did Ballet a lot earlier in his career and that helped a lot with his movement and popping up in punching areas that are totally different to the norm. Sounds kind of familiar to how Cavani plays, really

There was a point in the game right near the end, 1-0 up and Rashford lost the ball... Cavani ran like a lunatic to chase the ball back into his own half. So impressive. Form is temporary, class is permanent.

He scored all types of goals already: headers, right foot, left foot today. Pure striker. His finishing could've been better but he still should've had another assist to his name.

Rio also did ballet.

Have to admit I was completely wrong about this guy. I remember posting in a previous thread before we signed him that he was an overrated player and every time I saw him play he was terrible, he's a proper gun man. Great free signing.

He is the real deal. A proper number 9.

a joy to watch today. Playing as eager as a 20 year old. His football brain is pure. His decision making is very good. Martial should learn from him. Greenwood mentioned this week that he is learning a lot from him. I guess this is the true value of cavani. On the pitch star and a mentor to younger players

He was unlucky with that one in the first half as well, did really well to juggle it and the keeper didn't know much about the save. Just annoying that he'll probably have to miss games again.

This player has no resemblance to Zlatan at all. He doesn't like and he doesn't seek the spotlight. For me, he's the ultimate team player/striker. He has world class movement, attitude, workrate, ball protection, leadership, good heading. He can score difficult chances, miss easy ones (sometimes just because he has spend a lot of energy) but stll he never cheats/hides on a pitch and will give all he has. What a shame he was wasted on the wing for years at PSG to accomodate Zlatan. Never moaned. He loves deliver on the pitch not in the press, social media, radio stations, tv channels etc.
Unlike most players, he has a "normal" life, likes the simple things and seems to have real values. He doesn't seem to have been troubled by fame and money ... he looks a lot more like us than some young "stars". He is an admirable person and a great player to have.

Lovely goal, eventhough he has physically declined the class is still there great to have him.

I’m a hypocrite when it comes to this Cavani. I turned my nose up at reports we were interested in him over the years, but rated him when I watched him play. I didn’t think he was elite level but could see he had some quality. Watching him for us, even at the age he is, I can really appreciate the quality he has. He’s a true centre forward. Exceptional movement, timing, decision making, and accuracy. You can’t always score but if you can hit the target with half chances like he does you will score 15-20 goals a season. Really impressed with him, and hoping that he can continue to make an impact and leave some knowledge for our other strikers in his time here.

Has he always been this good and I’ve just underrated him?
World class goal tonight plus his movement and commitment are superb. We should have signed him 5 years ago.......
Really enjoying his performances! Keep it up Edinson.
