Edin Dzeko

Because with Mancini at the helm they'll play 1 up front in 80% of their games. We've struggled at times to keep 2 strikers happy even though we do it in 20% of games, imagine trying that with 4 or 5, 3 of whom are total cnuts.

Yeh I edited my post to mention Adebayor and Balotelli.

Tevez isn't going anywhere any time soon though.

Dzeko is quality. But I'm not sure how he will fit into their team.

Why do you say that?

I see the rescinding of his transfer request and then being given the armband again as an indication that he probably just agreed to stay until Summer so that it doesn't feck up their season.

Maybe. It's just a feeling I have.

I fancy this means Tevez will be leaving soon enough, probably came to an agreement for him to see out the season and then go in the summer, because i don't see how Tevez and Dzeko fit into the same side unless Mancini totally abandons a system he clearly strongly favours, which i dont see happening, then theres Balotelli, is he suddenly going to be dropped to the bench? as much as id love that as it would cause world war 3 at the dump it aint happening.

Dzeko in means Tevez out in the summer.

That still leaves us with Jo, Santa Cruz, Adebayor and Balotelli. All of which could be starters with many a decent club across Europe. Which begs the question that is it not about money that the aforementioned players are at that shitehole ? Certainly doesnt seem to be for footballing reasons and shitty certainly are no fecking Barcelona where you might be willing to compromise on the playing minutes.

Bunch of mercenaries, thats all they will ever be mate, no big player wants to play for them for anything other than money, they've no prestige, no history, no major global appeal other than £££, its basically Birmingham City with billions to spend, small club lots of money.

If they get CL football next season, which is more than likely,he'll stay.

Nah hes off and i think they know it, there's no way Mancini will field Dzeko/Tevez/Silva/Balotelli in the same side, not in his nature, he cant drop Balotelli unless he genuinely has a death wish as that bloke will kick up a tsunami!, he cant drop Silva as hes their best player, he wont sign Dzeko for 30 odd million and bench him.

Tevez will be gone by June.

Dzeko going to City won't really improve them imo. He'll probably place instead of Tevez and not along side him. And he's not really going to do any better than Tevez has already been doing in that lone striker role so I don't think the signing will change too much really.

Can see Tevez even leaving this Jan.

He wont leave in Jan i dont think but he'll definitely leave in the summer, you dont go from having a relationship beyond repair to being happy as larry in 24 hours, they clearly came to a compromise with him ie give your all until the end of the season and then you can go, (before anyone makes a comparison with Rooney he at no time handed in a transfer request and claimed his relationship with the club was beyond repair)

And agreed about Dzeko which is why im not concerned about that deal at all, decent player sure but any better than what they have? nope, and basically speaking Dzeko in Tevez out in the long term is likely to weaken them seeing as i cant envisage Dzeko scoring and being as influential to them as Tevez has.

Do you honestly think Dzeko will be replacing Tevez? Not a chance, Dzeko was wanted to replace Adebayor and a bid would have been made for Dzeko regardless of the Tevez situation. If Tevez goes in the summer then he will be replaced

Yes i do, you honestly think your going to spend 30 million on Dzeko and sit him on the bench every week?

It wont happen, and Dzeko whos been in high demand for a while wouldnt join you if that was to be the case when he could easily get first team football elsewhere.

Theres enough games to go round. Different horses for different courses and all that malrkey. Dzeko is nothing like any of the other strikers we have. Hes a target man who holds the ball up well. Thats something we have been missing and is another string to our bow

Look at it realistically Dave, its just not feasible, Dzeko wont join you if hes not going to play every week its that simple, he dosnt need to he could easily go to Italy and play week in week out if he wanted to, he wont join for such a fee and sit on the bench watching Tevez, if he signs he plays.

Same goes for Tevez, are you telling me hes going to be happy sitting on the bench or being 'rotated' with Dzeko?? look how he reacts when you sub him with 5 minutes to go for heavens sake! that man is never going to be happy sitting on the bench, what do you think caused his fall out with us??

Look at it realistically dave.

They've obviously given up with Adebayor, Dzeko's pay packet will no doubt cushion the blow of not starting.

Whos to say he won't play them both?

And drop Balotelli to the bench?? the man whos never happy even when he plays?

Good luck with the repercussions of that!

Us? What's going on here then?

I can't believe newtondude thinks Tevez and Dzeko will both start and Balotelli dropped

Him starting two strikers in Tevez and Dzeko itself would be incredibly shocking

Its reasonable to suggest that Dzeko and Tevez could be a front two, with Balotelli left wing and Silva or Johnson on the right wing.

Its reasonable to suggest that could happen. But Mancini seems to want to play Barry, De Jong and Yaya Toure in every game. So he probably wont choose to play it, even if he would like the option. It could at least be a good option from the bench, like when we'd resort to playing all of Rooney, Berbatov, Tevez and Ronaldo.

I don't know what Mancini is going to do but a player of Dzeko's ilk is certainly what City are missing so I can understand why hes gone for him

Just FYI - Bellamy still belongs to Man City. I know he'll get sold, but still.

Jo and Santa Cruz wouldn't be starters at any decent European club. Mediocre clubs, yeah, but not legit good ones.

Dzeko is a great option really, for one he isn't a headcase, so he won't give the constant headaches Balotelli and Tevez, and generally having those 3 as your options, just wow. All easily 20+ a season players.

So.... Tevez, Adebayor, Bellamy, Balotelli, Silva, Johnson, Santa Cruz, Jo and now Dzeko.

There is definitely going to need to be a serious cull. It wouldnt surprise me if they effectively just told half the players "you can stay for the money if you want, but you arent going to be playing...or you can be sold"

And we have Rooney, Berbatov, Hernandez, Owen, Macheda, Welbeck, Bebe....can we stop bringing up the fact they have so many forwards, just like with us, outside of the main few, the rest don't really matter right now and now their roles.

Bellamy, Jo, Santa Cruz and even Adebayor don't even matter any more, and they have plenty of other players just there for the sake of it like Vieira, Wright-Phillips, Bridge etc, who are only still there until they get the player they want, they can't really get rid of them yet either.

I tend to agree with that. They've been very clear that he hasn't had a pay rise so why the sudden turn around? I smell a move to la liga with a certain possible future United manager.

I also like how a little whisper went round that his agent had contacted United. Madness.

Tevez won't be happy playing wide, they'll need to go 442 or some variation of it to fit Dzeko and Tevez in the same team, or sell tevez in the summer.

No its not, not with Mancini in charge they will never go like that its far to open and attack minded, Balotelli and Silva aren't wingers in that sense either, teams would get such a free reign against them it would be a disaster for them to play like that.

Balotelli has played wide in Inter's diamond last season. He does have experience in a wide role thats more defensive than that one. Silva is fine defensively for a winger.

Mancini probably wont play it unless he's desperate for a goal. He'd most likely like to have the option of it, like we had with our 4 attackers.
