Eden Hazard

If I was a Chelsea fan I wouldn't be fussed about him leaving. His latest comments lack respect, anyway its not like his performances have been that good either. Ship him out for a big fee.

He looked like his old self against Spurs. It shows that he still has that world class ability in him. If he is available for a decent price, I would not be opposed to us signing him instead of the costly Greizman.

Vintage Hazard vs Spurs. That goal was just pure stunning. The finish even made me go mental.

On his day, he's a joy. Whoever gets him next season will have some player - think he needs a change of scene. Seems to be bored at Chelsea.

Turns out he was just pacing himself for the Euros. Hitting form at the right time. :D

Think he will be the next Galactico personally. Zidane is a big fan of him, can see him going there on the left if Ronaldo goes/decides he wants to play as striker.

James or Isco the other way? Not that far fetched

He'd be such an underwhelming 'Galactico'.

Hazard is a top player, and i agree with the opinion that change of scenery would do him good.

How so? He's top 10 player when he is firing. One bad season doesn't change that.
Even his star season wasn't that amazing, in my opinion. The most underwhelming 'Player of the Season' winner for a good while.

I just think he's not a superstar at all. When you think of the buzz someone like Pogba would create, Hazard would just be a bit underwhelming, in my opinion. It would be generous to even call him a 'Galactico'.

A top 10 player would never not score for over 30 matches. He's nowhere near that level.

Iniesta last year didn't score or assist for a year. Does that mean he isn't a top 10 player?

What a bizarre comparison. Surely you see the smidgen of difference between the two players and their circumstances?

Yes.

Hazard has been in a team where everybody has been shit including Fabregas, Costa, Matic and Courtois. One bad season doesn't change the fact he is a world class player. There's not many players in world football who can beat players with ease like he does.

Iniesta was in a treble winning team yet didn't score or assist.

Yeah, or if you want to take your complete slant and tip it upside down the other way; Hazard is the 'key man' who is expected to deliver goals and assists, not just 'beat men with ease'. Whilst Iniesta plays in sides where he isn't really expected to do so at all with figures such as Messi, Neymar, Suarez, and earlier Villa, Eto'o, Ibrahimovic etc... And if you're talking about the treble from last year (which I assume you are) it's pretty contentious as to whether Iniesta was actually a top 10 player that year anyway, so why make the comparison? World class players don't tank the way Hazard did. There is a reason he's completely overshadowed by De Bruyne for the national side - one is a world class player, whilst the other isn't.

I'd love him here but it'd never happens he's absolute class.

Always said it, he's hugely overrated based on pretty little dribbles.

Again, why on earth would anyone think we'd sell our best, most important player to Man United, a team we'll be directly competing with? Why would he want to swap a beautiful, world class city (which he has said he loves) for Manchester? Why would he join up with Mourinho again who he reportedly fell out with and get hammered for not tracking back?

Lastly, why would he swap one club who won't be in the CL for another that most likely won't be? If he leaves its to one of two clubs: Real Madrid or PSG.

I'll take a perma-ban if he's sold. That's how confident I am he'll be a Chelsea player.

Shouldn't this thread be locked like the Pogba one? We haven't been linked and it isn't going to happen.

Besides, he's crap :D

PSG makes too much sense. He's played in France, Ibra is leaving with no obvious replacement and so throwing Cavani up top and signing Hazard to play on the left is probably their best bet not to drop off too much offensively.

It doesn't really make sense, though. Why would a young player with ambition go to a 1 team league where it's CL or bust every season? He already dominated the French league and outgrew it.

He's going to be a beast again under Conte.

Maybe he wants to play in the CL and is unsure Chelsea will be straight back into the top 4 next season

If that happens he'll be off for sure. Not before next season is finished, though. He'll be here at least one more season. He should benefit greatly from playing once or twice a week and focusing mainly on one competition.

Players with ambition go to PSG all the goddamn time. Who in their starting XI this year do you think of as lacking ambition? Maybe Trapp, Aurier, Verratti, Matuidi and Maxwell were happy to be signed by CL clubs but I don't think they really lack ambition and Ibra, Thiago Silva, Luiz, Thiago Motta, Di Maria and Cavani were all pretty big names.

Just about all of the star players you've named were either there before PSG was a top team or came from other huge clubs after accomplishing just about everything elsewhere already.

Verratti wasn't a big name when he was signed

Hazard could have signed for Paris if Lille allowed it. But they didn't want to reinforce "direct competitors".

That doesn't apply to Cavani or Thiago Silva to be honest.

Unless Madrid or whoever stump up like £65m+ for him, he will absolutely stay one more yr. May aswell see how things go with Conte. And if he is excellent again, and back in top 4, he will just stay again. All in all i think one more season 100%, then top or not will dictate his future for 2017/18 season

Hazard has won won it all except the CL and PSG are a lot closer to winning that then Chelsea are. PSG is actually in it next year, which can't hurt.

Like I said, though, Hazard strikes me as a player who wants to play in a marquee league and for a big, globally famous club. Going back to the French league is a step down.
