Eden Hazard | "It's time to enjoy life drinking beers"

I've not even seen him play for Madrid yet, but it's ridiculously dumb to claim Hazard is a flat track bully in the PL when he's been quite obviously one of the better big games players we've had in the premier league in recent years.

Some people really just like to make up opinions based on nothing.

Don't they just.

I think the common theme is Chelsea fans coming on here seeking approval of how good their players are, and have been, from fans of undisputed PL royalty, Manchester United. I get it.
Like clockwork. To be fair, looking at the way RedCafe worships Liverpool and City players you can see why they might think this is a good place for approval.

"Yeah, we did have superstars" then lists Shevchenko.

Ref the bolded part; your owner is a Russian crook who, rumour has it, has bumped off his fair share of people. Combined with the fact the players you have listed joined your cash rich, billionaire daddy project (Shev/Ballack) at the end of their careers for a pay day, it's a tad rich coming from a Chelsea fan calling City "mercenaries".

How lazy are you? You know little, you don’t bother answering any of the substantive arguments, you search for the most obscure tidbits to find something to complain about, and answer as a know-it-all when you in facr can’t even get right which team I support. What a waste of time, I could have looked up your answering history and concluded that your opinions are based on nothing and you are not interested in discussion.

Obviously he's a Premier League great. Talisman of two title winning teams and among the best 2-3 players in the league in a spell over a period of time. Yes, he's had a few poor years but he was at Chelsea during more volatile period of their post Abrahomovic era with the Mourinho, Conte meltdowns etc If you asked Chelsea fans to pick their teams premier League 11 he'd make it. Given Chelsea have won some 5-6 titles over the last 18 years of course he's a PL great.

Don't they just.

Can you read? I didn't make any judgement about his time at Real Madrid in that post.

What I said was about his time for Chelsea and your incredibly stupid notion that Hazard was a flat-track bully in the PL despite being consistently one of the best performers against the top 6 when he was here.

No wonder you can't judge matches when you struggle to comprehend simple English

How? Box to box midfielders doesnt work at the top level anymore and he doesnt do much around the box. Kovacic plus a player who is accomplished on the ball will improve Chelsea no end.
Chelseas attacks are dead through the middle and it doesnt help that Kante needs a sitter beside him. Theres too much pressure on Mount and its one of the main reasons why they struggle to score and why their pace isnt utilised enough up top. They arent capable of playing the early ball over the top or out wide.
You see it when we play each other. You either get beat or sit waay back because you are terrified of us on the break and its Fred and Scott who are the first reference for those counters.
what ? go watch the atletico madrid second leg and how he was the best player on the pitch by a mile to tell me it doesnt work.
No we make chances our issue is time and time again the front players either miss or make the wrong decision with the last pass.
again what ? you did the double over us last year for the first time in god knows how long well done
both games ended 0 0 this year and regardless what does that one game prove ?
you just beat man city away and had the double over them too last year iirc so fred and the other guy > de bryune and citys midfield now too ?

Try using your brain for once
what bearing does his time at madrid have on his pl performances that poster commented on ?

I'll advise you to watch your tone.

Insulting other forum members is an offence. I'll let it slide this time but in future I won't be as forgiving.

As you are.

Eh? Hazard was only involved in 2 of those titles wins

As I said. Respect the rules of the forum. Thank you.

I am - I criticised your point that Hazard is a flat-track bully in the PL. I think what you said was dumb and you've yet to actually defend your point. Instead you're talking about the rules of the forum, which just comes across as disingenuous deflection tbh

Sorry but I feel the Caf rules are important and improve the community we have here. I'm sorry if you disagree and don't appreciate or recognise their value.

I won't engage in debate with someone who is clearly that worked up they feel the need to make personal insults.

Hazard is PL great like RVP and Toure but not comparable to players like Giggs and Lampard.

I mean of course. But whose saying he is? It's like denying Wenger and Mourinho are PL greats becuase SAF won 13 titles.

I think he means that given the relatively few title wins Chelsea has, the fact that Hazard was involved in two of those makes him a PL great.
Actually given that Chelsea have a huge chunk of PL wins since their cheat code was activated, a forward who would make their best 11 and in a crucial position, is obviously a PL great.

Go watch Fred v City at the Etihad. Pointing out big games doesnt work against Utd players.
Both have the same amount of ball recoveries this year so Kante doesnt even work harder than Fred, its just 3 lung Kante memes etc etc.
Fred does have the forward pass in his arsenal. Sometimes he's erratic because he's so optimistic but he can play that forward pass to the attackers that sets them away. If Fred had an equally limited passing range as Kante then he would be rated higher, that optimism is where his mistakes come in.
Try telling Timo that Kante has that in his arsenal.
Im not saying Fred is an elite player or anything, im saying this Kante isnt either.
Its weird how highly you Chelsea fans rate your players, your lot have almost every comparison go chelseas way yet finished behind us last year and are struggling for fourth this year. When are your players actually going to show it? Will Tammy finally show his dominance over Rashford?

I thought you of all people wouldn't have the brass neck to mock other predictions. Didn't you think you were going to win the league this season?

This thread turns into an utter mess every couple of months.

I'll never understand people revising history for a player who has a change in form good or bad. The fact Hazard is struggling with injuries and form at Real does not diminish his PL exploits.

He was massive in big games, he won trophies, he won multiple player of the year awards, he was the best player in our squad for 6/7 seasons and in the team of the year almost every season. He wasn't inconsistent, he won by far more Motm awards than any player in the same time frame. He had one bad season, along with the rest of the squad and has been unfairly coined with the 'inconsistent' tag off the back of it.

EDIT - He was also incredible at Lille and for me was the best player at the world cup in 2018. He is a PL legend and nothing anyone can say will change my mind

come back when fred wins the league or a world cup
its weird how you talk when you couldnt even get out the cl group stage and we just walked through la ligas top team

physical breakdown
his body is falling apart

But today's game has the best nutrition, the best science, the best recovery programs... surely there's a way for him to get back to peak physical form ?

I'm actually the opposite. My memories tell me he was a brilliant player, one of the best ever in the history of the PL, and how he carried you for many seasons. But when I'm looking at his stats now, they..... aren't all that? Mane easily dwarfs him, and I'm sure there are several wide forwards who scored more than him. He's only had one single season where he scored more than 20 goals for you, his final season. I guess you can always say that goals aren't everything and that he contributes in other ways, but do you think that maybe he's a bit overrated now because he was so important to your team, and that you were practically built around him?

I disagree the players you named were superstars. Sorry, with £2bn spent on talent, you never had anyone anywhere near players like Henry, Rooney, Beckham, Bale, de facto World Class stars. At a push, Drogba and Lampard but a tier below the very best.

Sorry you disagree.

Based on stats Kevin Phillips was better than Dennis Bergkamp. Based on stats Gerrard was better than Xavi.

Wow, so now someone who scored in every final he played at Chelsea bar one was "at a push"

i dunno
hes had more injuries in a few months at madrid last year than 7 years at chelsea
now its not even close hes constantly injured and for long periods

Well... he's been playing profesional football for about 13 years now. Not everyone can keep themselves in the same shape I reckon...

Just bad timing the deal then, like the Kaká case.

Maguire > SIlva
Fred > Kante
Dan James > Gianfranco Zola
Massimo Taibi > Petr Cech
William Prunier > Marcel Desailly

According to this place.
 Tbf, the first one is true atm and aside from Fred > Kante, which is obviously rubbish, I haven’t seen the rest implied or compared anywhere.

Peak Drogba was better than peak Rooney. I don’t think you will ever find one Striker completely overpower entire defenses on his own and help so much defensively. (Just my opinion) but Tevez was better than Rooney too.

Also I never cared for Bale, he scored a lot and he was quick but I personally never saw him score the individually brilliant goals Hazard scored. A few long range efforts here and there but not completely breaking Defensive lines like Hazard.
