You think this is left hanging all over the British press for 24 hours without being a club briefing? I don't.
Are there more sources? United usually ignore news.
The way I see it, the club briefed the press early this year about hiring a DoF and now the club is briefing that there won't be structural changes.
The other outlets refer to the Mail article. I think it's hubris that's making Ed cling on to power. I don't think he'd ignore this if it was inaccurate.
If it's just the mail, my point still stands. The club normally brief multiple outlets if news is true or they want something out there.
Daily mail and other tabloids often make stuff up.
We may not end up with a DoF. But I wouldn't use a DM article as evidence.
I'm going by the lack of reaction by the club. Would be the easiest thing to brief, no actually, club is definitely hiring a DoF. Not like the club needs more negativity whilst trying to convince recruits that all is going to be well at OT.
If he delivers Barella / Ndombele/ Bruno / Sancho / AWB/ Delegit by selling Pogba(who wants to leave) and Lukaku along with Matic/Fred/Darmian/Young/Baily

i can see why Woodward jumped at the chance to sign up Ole without even looking at other options. If he had to work with the likes of Zidane, Woodward would actually have to prove himself. Madrid have an awful season and already have bought FIVE upgrades. Woodward can't even settle a deal quickly for the likes of AWB. It seemingly takes multiple weeks and multiple bids to secure an english prospect from the same league?

Honestly it's pathetic how little ambition there is at this club.
The summer of 2013 set the tone. The most glaringly needed rebuilding summer since the 1980’s, and we spent all of it haggling over Fellaini and failing all other targets. At the end Ed panicked and paid more than his release clause to end up with even a single signing.

That you think it’s the managers choice to renew contracts speaks volumes. It’s this that should end the conversation irrespective of whether Ed should go or not.

I would vehemently disagree with point one. Van Gaal was about to retire so unless there was a plan to bring in a dynamic manager who played in a similar mold his hiring was a mistake.
Mourinho being hired was a colossal mistake because of what happened at Chelsea and Madrid. Sure they won but then things became nuclear toxic at both clubs because of Jose.
The problem again goes back to not having a DoF put into place before Fergie left.
You put a DoF in place like Tito that is respected and maybe you get Pep or Klopp and avoid all this mess. Certainly nothing is guaranteed.
Van Gaal + Mourinho were terrible hires because they didn’t fit the direction needed for the club and both were short term answers bereft of long term Vision.
Points 2-4 are true but it is all for naught when you make two terrible managerial selections and still have no clue what is you are trying to achieve.
This was further compounded by hiring sentimental favorite who has shown nothing to suggest that he is capable.

It was a hostile takeover and now it is showing itself to be just that, it is a money grab from the club, and nothing else. The biggest enemies of Manchester United as a football club right now are not Manchester City or Liverpool, it is the Glazer family and in particular the guy who has helped them take over the club and is the current CEO, and also DOF of United. His name is Ed Woodward and you can see him at many matches looking like he gives a shit after a bad performance by twisting his multi coloured scarf in knots and making a face. The guy does not give a shit about United as a football team.

The pursuit of Maguire sums up Woodward Ineptitude with the football side of things, wouldn't agree to sign Maguire last season at a cheaper price when Mourinho wanted him because he thought we had good enough options already than to be spending 50+ million on a defender but now he's happy to go back in for him with 20-30 million added to his value because of seeing how well VVD has turned out for Liverpool in typical reactionary Woodward fashion that we have come to expect from the him.
True fans can make their voice heard by boycotting matches and not buying shirts, but the major problem remains and that is that most people have no clue what is going on and will continue to support these arseholes.
We have a strategy. Don't buy many players or spend too much. The season tickets are in,job done. People need to stop thinking Ed is clueless. This isn't him being inept,quite the opposite. The majority of same United fans love Ole and if he isn’t backed in a way it was made clear by Ole himself, then it will turn sour on the board long before fans turn on Ole should we not push in next season.
