Dubbbbbbbstep.

This music has fecking taken over me, I'm fecking addled from this shit and booze.

fecking ace.

Not really a fan, to be honest. I'm sure it's a matter of taste and that it has its merits, but I get the impression most people listen to dubstep to make some sort of fashion statement.

Give it a listen when pissed or when you want the music to reverb through your body!

I didn't like it all at first. Then gave it a chance and now I'm addicted.

Love this one at the moment.

No offence to anyone if they do this like but is this some sort of uni joke against garage music? Some of this sounds like a dodgy computer or a lawn mower... can i have what your having?

Yeh it's not everyones tastes but its the next branch of the whole electronica genre. It's the low frequency bass that controls the songs, you have to listen to these songs on good sound systems otherwise you won't feel any of the bass at all. I'd say it's the next best after Grime as that didn't carry on and Niche never really took off, more for the chavs up north.

Nice chilled out dubstep, 15 year old producer , very impressive.

Surprised this classic was missed out

Newish tune by Magnetic man, the trio of Benga,Skream and Artwork

It's not really about the low end bass anyone, it's more the mid range. Unfortunately any element of musicality or rhythm seems to have been lost too.

Since it's gone mainstream it's just lost its touch. I hate when things go mainstream but at the same time some of these guys deserve recognition and to make a decent salary.

Looking for a song to be ripped from a Radio playback? is that possible?

Its from this station

XFM from the Eddy Temple-Morris REMIX show on Friday night

http://mediaweb.musicradio.com/playe...t.asp?s=60&e=0 <<<<< Go to LISTEN AGAIN and them THE REMIX EDDY TEMPLE MORRIS

PLAYLIST HERE!!!

The tune i want is like the second to last song played on the 4 hour set! I don't know if it is possible to fast forward to the specific point. I know its not possibly on my MAC anyway and i listened to the whole 4 hour show just to listen to the tune again. (Dont worry i did other stuff and let the show run. It plays some cracking tunes anyway!)

Anyway its called

Cutline - Die For You. There are a few versions of this song on youtube but they are all Drum and Bass and this is a dubstep version. Possibly the best dubstep track i have heard in almost a year.

The song before is called Squid Attack by Genetix and the track after it is called The Jungle by Sigma (The playlist has a mistake as he lost one of the tracks he was going to play)

If someone could rip this and turn it into a Mp3 i would be forever grateful it is immense beyond belief!

Thanks

i only like a couple of dubstep songs and this is one of them

Quality - I love the image of some academic sat listening to dubstep to work out if it qualifies for inclusion or not !

"Musical genres can often present problems to the lexicographer. Firstly, a certain amount of patience is required to see if the name catches on to any significant degree (frequently this can depend on the success or otherwise of the music itself); there are numerous proposed genre names which no-one but their inventor and a few close associates ever used. Dubstep would seem to have done well in this regard; the first recorded use of the word is in 2002 (although the music itself had been around for a few years before it picked up the name), and it is still much talked-about in 2010. Secondly, one is trying to describe in words something which is essentially non-verbal in nature, and, while something can normally be said about what is characteristic about the "feel" of the music, or which types of instruments or vocals it typically features, one must often describe it (rather as in much music journalism) in terms of the other genres or types of music with which it shares certain common features. As such, dubstep is an unusually etymologically helpful example of the breed, taking its step from two-step, a UK garage subgenre (which is also featured in this quarterly release of OED Online), and melding it with the bassline-driven atmospherics associated with its first element dub."

I had the displeasure of attending a dubstep night tonight. Never before have I been in the presence of such a bunch of odious cretins, moronically 'dancing' to noise (not music). I left after about half an hour in disgust.

Dubstep is for cnuts.

Haha, there are still some good nights but most dubstep nights are like this unfortunately. They are usually big sausagefests also.

Found that tune eventually that i posted above ^^

Cutline - Let Me Go.

Heading down to Landan in March for the DMZ birthday bash. Should be epic not to mention packed.

Was going to bump this thread to post that one. Absolutely wonderful track that I just recently found out about..

But, since I'm here I'll throw in some Swedish dubstep from L-Wiz.. They are brilliant really. They mostly do the more melodic, less wobbly kind of dubstep.

I'm not much for this genre, but I found this one a couple of months ago and it's pretty damn sweet. Not sure if it's purely dubstep though. Anyhow:

Saw Nero playing about 2 weeks ago now, would have been better if not for the shitty sound restrictions. He had some hot chick randomly feeding us from a bottle of JD though.
