Who else is into this filthy music? :smirk:

For those of you who don't know it..

Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music that has its roots in London's early 2000s UK garage scene. Musically, dubstep is distinguished by its 2-step rhythm, or use of snare sounds similar to 2-step garage and grime, and an emphasis on bass, often producing "dark" sounds, but just as frequently producing sounds reminiscent of dub reggae or funky US garage.

Here are some quick examples of Dubstep artists and their tunes.

RUSKO - JAHOVA

NERO - IN THE MIDDLE (REMIX)

BAR 9 - MIDNIGHT

Best listened to in a sweaty dingy room pissed off your tits.

Saw him at the DeValence in Tenby in the summer fecking mental night.

I'm into this but I don't listen to proper tracks.I'm a huge fan of a UK champion of beatbox Reeps one who masters the dubstep style. Here is a clip (after the minute or so he does some dub)

Loving it at the mo. Love Bar 9 - Midnight.
If you've never heard this fella, be prepared to be blown away. Hopefully will be seeing him on Saturday in Leeds along with Erol Alkan, Caspa and Joker.

Autoplay. Be gone.

The Chicane one is eerily good. Both quite haunting.

dubstep is pretty superb from what has been listed on this thread so far.

quick can you connoisseurs give me a list of the top dubstep artists so i can shamelessly torrent their discographies?

Me

Really not into Caspa & Rusko's production at all.

For me it's all about Reso and Burial

Rusko isnt going to get any credit for pushing boundaries but he did make a couple of epic dance floor hits!

I never really got into Burial - was amazed at all the critical acclaim that he received - he often appeared in lists of 'Album Of The Decade'.
I prefer the rib shaking dancefloor stuff - his minimalist take on dubstep just doesnt do it for me.

My personal faves:

Been into dub for so long, it really is great unique sound.

This is the best thing that has ever happened to music...

Awesome!!! Thanks for making this thread. I first heard this kind of electronica when I was in Iceland (99-04) and fell in love with the dirty, slutty sound. I've been trying to find some of it in recent years and this thread is perfect. Drinking to it just makes you want to have sweaty, dirty sex.

This is ridiculous. My older brother showed me this months ago. It it pure filth

I must be getting old. I honestly don't know if you are complimenting the song or not.

Looking at the other comments in this thread makes me feel like the unwilling participant of a Chris Morris Brasseye special on "yoof" music.

Also, that sounded like a Commodore 64 loading.

No offence to anyone if they do this like but is this some sort of uni joke against garage music? Some of this sounds like a dodgy computer or a lawn mower... can i have what your having?

Jakwob last night was intense. Some dirty beats were dropped. On a slight side note, Erol Alkan was also immense.

I actually like some of this stuff, but you're making me want to hate it with the way you describe it.

Those two tracks will be revered as McCartney & Lennon-esque like classics in a few decades roodboy. Feels so good to be around when it started :D

Did think this thread lacked some of the classics!

There are a lot of artists jumping on the bandwagon nowadays with remixes etc - the more the merrier as far as I am concerned! Posted this track in the Electronica thread a while ago and still got it on my regular playlist

loving this at the moment ...
