Does depth really matter?

Hope he means in terms of having two players of equivalent ability, rather than two options for the position. In an ideal world we should be targeting two new midfielders in the summer.

I think two players who can play well in each position is important...... Having said that, I'm a big fan of a Daley Blind / John O'Shea type who can tick off being the cover for 2, 3 or 4 positions. That's how maintain squad depth without having a bloated, unhappy squad.

Yeah it's a massive plus having a player like that. In most recent times, I can think of Milner for Liverpool who covered LB/RB and CM. As a manager, those guys must be indispensable.

Oh we definitely need more squad depth over the next couple of windows,doesn't have to cost the earth either just utilise free agent market.
