Does Bruno start against Liverpool?

Should Ronaldo start against liverpool? He can’t play a modern day sweeper keeper.

Should De Gea play against liverpool? He doesn’t press.

Should we play against liverpool? Idk prolly not.

Agreed. We should just forfeit and take the 0-3 without bothering to play.

Yes but only by default. Otherwise he's probably the worst big game 'star' in club history. Like who will actually be shocked to be back in the thread lamenting his terrible performance after that game?

What is it with this obsession some fans have with having to say something is the best or worst ever.
You have Pogba in the same side, who mostly manages to have a knock when we play Liverpool, let alone turn up in a big game.

City away about 3 or 4 years ago and that's about it.

Pogba has several big game performances. His record isn't great but he isn't exactly in Bruno territory. This one isn't even hyperbole. Bruno might be our worst big game star.

Pretty funny that you'd take issue with the description of worst ever only to immediately offer up Pogba's name. Either way he isn't Bruno bad.

Another one of these.

It seems the only solution is to not bother fielding a team against Liverpool at all, be thankful for the small mercy of a 3-0 defeat and move on.

Let’s leave our only good players out of the team. That will work.

He shouldn't but we all know he will.
Created most chances in the league. Leave him on the bench vs Liverpool

This bloody place.

What’s the obsessed with wanting to take our most talented players out of the team? First Ronaldo and now Bruno, I’d dread to think where we’d be this season without those 2.

Bruno is the new Poch it seems, so much vitriol aimed at him. Been rubbish for a while but no more rubbish than the rest of the shite yet still out biggest chance creator and second highest scorer. Maybe he is tired from carrying the team for the previous two seasons or maybe he is just shit and we should sell him at the first opportunity!

The contract bollocks pisses me off also, there were talks of him putting contract talks on hold at beginning of year, as he was in no rush, now people are idiotic to believe the club watched him put a few shit appearances in on the bounce and thought, yeah let’s give him a new deal out of the blue.

It's not funny at all, I'm simply saying you think Bruno is the "worst ever" big game player, when we have Pogba who I think has been no better and probably worse overall, in the same current squad!

I'm currently watching Lukaku, who is just one of many many examples of worse big game players than Bruno.

Rashford and Sancho are part of the future, and our most talented players. What's ridiculous is having to try Bruno in their positions in hope that he might be good. If he isn't good enough in his proper position, there is no need to experiment and waste time and games, points.
So basically you think Sancho and Rashford are better/more talented than Bruno. There’s your problem right there…

Yeah Lukaku is for sure up there.

I wouldn't but I think he will.

bring him on at 55-60 minute depending on how the game is going.

Who the bloody hell would you play in midfield then? With no McFred in there?

Matic, Lingard and Mata?

Are people going to create a thread like this for every player? The whole team does not deserve to start against Liverpool but as a matter of fact, we have no-one else to come in instead unless we play the youth (apart from Maguire position but looks like he has roots sown in the ground!)

You have to start Bruno against Liverpool, I don’t care how bad he’s been. In the big games you play your best players.

He’s a trainwreck in big matches though. Not saying bench him. But he’s Lukaku bad in big matches.

I agree but you have to play your best players in these games. Ultimately we need better players.

His antics get on my nerves and he’s hardly pulling up trees just now but he’s definitely one of our best players, he needs to be out there.

We need Bruno simply for his relentless hunger to move the ball forward and get the team fighting. He may not be in the best of forms but in a team devoid of passion and interest, Bruno is essential

Wide playmaker like David Silva or Mata used to play, false nine or even if we are extremely innovative as the attacking CM in a 433 with Matic and Mejbri.
He’s played as a wide playmaker when Rangnick took over with the 442 and looked atrocious because he’s too slow and cannot dribble for shite. He’s played in a midfield 3 plenty of times when we reverted to a 433.

Bruno Fernandes has one position and one position only — the no.10/second striker position. He’s probably the least tactically flexible player we have in attack.

When you play a team like Liverpool, and play like us currently, getting the ball forward isn't as vital as keeping the ball for periods of the game.

It's well documented, even Ole said it, that Bruno can come up with a bit if magic but also gives away possession way too much.

I won't think we have much choice but to play him what with injuries and what not, but his last couple of performances would mean he doesn't start, for me.

It's just my opinion obviously but there are those players who have great stats but can be detrimental in certain circumstances.

If we're benching the players who have been awful lately, does that even leave us with 11 players to start our next match?

If Ralf can't coach a world class player in Bruno to play well, or coach the team to work with him in it, and we can play better with other players, then we should drop him

He shouldn't, he's been bloody awful for ages. Lingard seemed to be doing a better job as a modern 10 against Norwich.

Absolutely he should start. And Lingard was rubbish against Norwich I thought.

He’s not playing well, but we don’t have XI players playing well to rub together at the moment so we’ll always play out of form players. Bruno is one of a few players who can probably somehow nick a goal, so for a game like Liverpool, when we are likely to be second best regardless of our ‘game plan’ - best to have him on the pitch. Better that than our one big chance falling to Lingard in the 85th minute and him snatching at it.

That said, if Ralf plans to line up like he did at the Etihad I’d much rather Lingard as a false 9 than Bruno. And I do think Jesse should be, and should have been more involved in general.

We have no Fred and Mctominay right?

Matic, Pogba, Bruno midfield. Elanga, Sancho, Ronaldo.

Rightly so. These are about the ONLY fit senior players that we have. Unless Jones is available. And even if we decide to play 5 at the back with Bailly, Elanga is more likely on the bench than Bruno.

I wouldn’t start Bruno as a false 9 though he looked terrible playing there last time, I would start him though just in his regular position, we need work rate against Liverpool and he has an abundance of it.

A respectable 0-3 forfeit or a 0-7 tonking, I know which I’d prefer.

I sometimes wonder why players dont go crazy and get 3-4 red cards so that the game gets forfeited at 3-0, rather than losing 7-0 or something.

Lingard literally gave the ball away in every attack. While Bruno is liable to doing the same thing as least he actually can produce moments of quality. The fact you think Lingard is the answer says it all tbh.

Which one of you caused this? We get the point. He shouldn't play. Don't need to go this far!

Hope De Gea & Ronaldo learn from this and ask to be benched themselves.
