Diogo Dalot (Out)

We won't sell him, nor should we. He's a very good right back and I'm sure Amorim will really like him. He's become a victim to his own durability and versatility.

He's had a poor season so far, but I wouldn't be in any hurry to sell him. He was one of our players of the season last year, and probably the only fullback we can count on to be available most of the time.

Banking on Mazraoui to stay fit seems just as daft as doing the same with Shaw.

Good backup, but I’d like to think we will be looking for a better starter. If we’re offered that sort of money I think we’d probably consider it.

He is valuable and very useful for the team. But if they pay E 40 M, do it.

For that money you can practically buy fringpong, who ultimately is a better wingback than Dalot, especially regarding goals and assists

He’s a good player. U less you can bring in someone better, we shouldn’t even countenance it.

He’s shit, but then anybody playing at left back who isn’t one usually is. 40m doesn’t get you much these days, but we could use that money. I’d probably take it.

I don't doubt they'd genuinely be looking at other options but is this more of an Real Madrid ploy to get TAA to make his mind up?

I’d sell at that price as I don’t see where he fits in Amorim’s system. I don’t think he has it in him or play in the back 3 like Mazraoui and he’s not going to be first choice in either of the wide positions.

If it allows us to fill one of the positions we need then it’s a no brainer for me.

I’m not bothered if he stays but he’s also one of our only sellable assets with value.

Was this worth a thread? Its BBC gossip

We’re not selling Dalot.

He is a better player than some of his critics portray him. I like him, despite his flaws. However any player not called Maradona etc has a price. We should not demand something extraordinary (70 mil) but we should not be in rush to sell him at 40. The 50 million being mentioned, I believe is a fair price, but we can squeeze some more perhaps.

He's been utterly fecking dreadful this season.

However you have to factor in he's been out of position all season and the fact he's barely had a rest in 2 years probably doesn't help.

I've not always been his biggest fan, but unless it was a big money offer I would keep him probably. The fact he's a Utd defender that can manage to regularly stay fit makes him pretty unique.

Been contacted by Madrid?

Maybe to ask him if he knows any decent defenders.

Either his agent has placed this link as he's after a renewal, or more likely Madrid are teasing out TAA.

If he ever goes for a fee anywhere near 50m, myself @Dirty Schwein and @BeforeKeanetherewasRobson will set up a 3man dance troupe called the Good, the Bad and the Schweiny and give you a personal freebie.

No logic in selling him this January unless it's to facilitate a move for someone like Davies, but he has been awful this season.

He cost 19m as a youngster, doesn't seem much of an uplift for a player about to enter his prime.

£50m/£60m would make more sense, Madrid don't do us any favours with their players so not sure why we'd be that reasonable.

50m Turkish lira maybe.

I doubt we’d sell given Shaw injuries (out again?!), Malacia unproven, Amass too young and Maz looking so good at RCH. Maz could go to WB once Yoro bedded in but we’d still be skinny in cover.

(Can I be “bad” please?)

No one would pay 50m for Dalot, and honestly i don't think there's gonna be too much demand for him. He is a good average footballer, could be perfect as a backup in a top team. Especially not Madrid, they are looking for a top class player. a starter.

You certainly can.

There not after him, there just letting Trent and Liverpool know there looking for a right back.

For the price quoted for Dalot they'd get Trent for that in January.

I wouldn't sell him unless it was for a silly fee.

Not that I rate him that highly when he's on the pitch, but from a squad perspective a 25 year old fullback who can cover both sides while being physically able to play an absolutely relentless amount of games is extremely valuable. Even more so when (by pretty much all accounts) he's one of our most professional players off the pitch too.

In my Utd saves on FM 24 Madrid always come in for Dalot after a season or two for around 40-55 million. I always sell for that even though I like the player a lot there is surely someone out there with more potential than him that can be found for less. The thing is he’s a starter at this point so unless we can find a starter we are best off leaving it

BBC gossip isn't a source. It collects reports from the relevant newspapers etc.
Nope, it actually collates information which is mostly bullshit from gossip pages. It has gossip in the name for a reason. There may be a few small reliable pieces in their mix but Il consider the Dalot one as BS

Makes sense. He doesn’t really fit in with our squad being that he’s always available for selection.

Relovo are not a reliable outlet for news, it's very likely it will be Trent who goes there anyway.

Absolutely cannot be allowed to leave the club, and he isn’t even all that. He is dependable though and can cover LB as well as RB. Not sure we could reliably replace him for 50m.
It’s cost €15m to get Alvarez back. It’s costs €0 to get Reis from Sporting. Amad and Maz can cover the right.
