Diogo Dalot | Done Deal | Speaks better English than Valencia

And as per the scouting reports when we signed Darmian, he was not really known as a great attacker and crossing was called out as his weak point.
Yet, somehow people were surprised when he couldn't find his life easy in a league were fullbacks were expected to go up and down all day and cross as much as possible.
Ask yourself an honest Question, is he a Manchester United player ?

I hope you understand my point. It is just one of those useless signings that makes no sense.

Pretty composed for a kid against a really good pressing team.

Well that's a lie.

He had like one good season.

There’s a reason he was pushed back to right back. It certainly wasn’t because he was a very good winger. Giggs was pushed to CM when he got older. But that was because he could still actually provide creativity something Valencia could only dream about.

So many people used to groan in the match day threads when Valencia and Young used to be our wingers under Fergie.

All for buying young talent to mould for the future. Unlike others I’m more concerned with LB this season.

Who knows - maybe this guy can be our starter. Look at Trent A-A.

Trent A-A is completely average

Diogo Dalot is an anagram of "I good Lotad". Lotad is a Pokémon who is incredibly weak and feeble, weak to flying types. Who's flying right now? That's right, City and Liverpool. We'd be screwed.

Do not want.

What does this mean for TFM?

Why do people think TFM is a right back? Seems like every centreback who’s not mature enough is shoved into fullback and made to play there until they’re ready for cb. I have pretty awful memories of Jones and Smalling playing there a lot in their early days here.

This guy will be a centreback, he doesn’t have the qualities to be a right back or midfielder but has all the qualities to be a proper centreback given time. Let’s not obsess about trying to put a square peg in a round hole just to fit him in the side somewhere

Positioning and anticipation were spot on throughout as well as composure when playing out of the back under pressure. Considering he played on the 'wrong' side given he's right-footed, pretty impressive for such a young lad.

Are people actually moaning about signing a highly rated youngster? Didn't the caf want this all along?
Never seen him play myself but looks promising, not very expensive so low risk, high reward. Btw is Diogo pronounced like Diego?

What you forgot to say was that Lotad could learn bullet seed which was an early TM in the game. Bullet Seed was amazing for the first Gym (Rock Gym) which made Lotad a great second pokemon after Charmander. We all know that Charmander is the best starter pokemon so we are the best team in the world.

Sidibe, Meunier, Bellerin, Cancelo, Vrsjalko, Ordiozola, Hysaj

There are more than enough good rightbacks who can immediately shift into our team.
Bellerin, I don’t rate him at all, poor at defending and even worse going forward, only averaged 0.3 crosses per game considering he spent 1/2 the season as a wing back that is very poor.

Hysaj, very good at defending but unless we sign a real quality right winger, need someone better at going forward.

Would prefer a ready made replacement for Valencia rather than an understudy, if the reports are true that Tuchel not impressed by his selection of fullbacks then trying to sign Meunier would be the best option available.

Lotad wasn't available in Gen 1. Joke's on us :(

On a serious note it's refreshing to see us linked to some exciting talent. Seems two-footed as well

I hope the days of Valencia stopping with the ball, then cutting onto his right or blasting it onto the defender's shins are over.

You my friend are not updated. There are various mods that allow you to combine generations. There is also a modded pokemon that combines gens 1-6 if it takes your fancy.

He could turn out to be a bargain and great signing but thats not an issue.

This is spot on. After a bit of research I believe it's other weakness is bug types. With Ozil signing a new contract at Arsenal we have already dropped 6 points there.

For me, the order of importance in our signings this summer is:

1. Right Wing
2. Left Back
3. Centre Mid
4/5. Right Back/Centre Back

If speculating on a promising young talent to come in and at worst understudy, or at best replace Valencia, allows us to free more funds to invest in the top 3 positions of importance then I'm all for it.

Why do you need to do research, your username checks out.

I may be wrong, but isn't this guy actually a left-back? That is where he has seemed to play all his games...

Darmian was much better when he was playing regularly. It was impossible to dribble pass him, he always took the ball away.
I wonder if he is an improvement on even Darmian who has been our 3rd choice right back this season.
Is this the same inept, useless Darmian who gets beaten by any half decent attacker you are talking about? Impossible to dribble pass and Darmian should not go in the same sentence, Darmian is fecking useless, and this kid would need to be seriously shit to not be an improvement.

What about a backup striker?

I took an interest in Portuguese football last year, I'd know more about the Benfica side than Porto or Sporting, but I've been to see all three teams when I was in Lisbon in April although Dalot wasn't in the squad that day.

If I recall correctly Barcelona and Madrid took interest in him, with Madrid especially keen on him. He's had an extremely smooth trajectory towards the first team, from what I heard looked miles above everybody else when he was playing with the B team in the 2nd division (Which is a tough league to play in! A lot of good players) He has no real weakness and looks like a Jose player in the sense that he's always looked composed, strong, and good in the air.

He's not quite as attacking as Rafael was, he'd be quite similar to somebody like Coleman in his playstyle in that he's aggressive, good in either half, and consistent. He would really help take the strain off Valencia, and there's no better player for him to learn from than Antonio. Really excited about this signing.

Darmian as in Italy's first choice right back and wanted by Juventus Darmian?

Yeah, he's clearly not a good footballer at all...
