The improvements he's made to his game over the last 2 seasons are very impressive. He's always been technically good but his physicality was lacking in a big way, now I don't think there's many in the league, in any position, that match him in a physical sense.

It's not uncommon for taller players (relative to their position) to peak a little later. Definitely happens for target man and CBs, might be the case for 6 foot tall fullbacks too.

If he is playing for City he would be labelled as best full back in PL. Monster season from this lad.
And now moment for "i told you so". From day one i was defending this lad and saying that he will become class full back. And now he is.

Btw, remember when Ole sent him to Milan? Lucky for us that Milan didn't decide to buy him.

Agree. People seriously underrate how technically good and versatile he is because the style of team he's had to play in isn't one that showcases those things constantly. Very good dribbler, good in tight spaces, two footed, progressive passer, and decent striker of the ball while being physically strong. His obvious downside is that he isn't a creative wizard or crossing demon from the right side so his contributions going forward aren't obvious compared to a James/TAA/Gusto or any other attacking fullback.

He's much more of an all rounder like Shaw, good in every area of the pitch and key to our build up.

Haven't thought of it like that before, you might have a point though.

Yeah, it might be nonsense, or he just needed a bit more time to grow into his body. Or he just learned to defend in Milan, and he had the rest.

Ronaldo spoke very highly of him, and in all the interviews he does, he speaks in a mature way, almost captain-like. I like everything about him.

Growing into your man's body just takes you to another level. Certain freaks like Rooney have that trait from the outset but most players need time to develop their physical traits.

I think his concentration is what has improved him, his situational awareness is massivley more consistent than it was, if AWB could do that we'd have no need to priortise looking for replacement fullbacks

Mad how he's gone from being fecked off on loan and most of the caf agreeing that AWB is better to being arguably the best all-round footballer at the club.

Not sure anybody else has all of pace, strength, stamina, touch, dribbling, long shots, positioning, work rate, mentality. He even times runs in behind as well as any of our attackers. He's basically an 8/10 at everything just now.

Beast. Really think he will develop into a monster of a player

I'm just so surprised that more people aren't seeing this, the lad is very very good.

Arguably player of the season for me, which isn’t saying much considering our season, but he was fabulous today.

I certainly think that spell with Milan massively improved him as a player, I always thought he struggled defensively, but after the Italian effect, he's looked a more rounded full back, and seems at ease on both flanks.

Been impressed with him for a while now. In the past he's been quite poor then shown glimpses of good play in various areas of the pitch, for me he's always had the talent and physical attributes but lacked the strength mentally, I think he's finally getting to the next level.

Looking forward to seeing him in the Euros, he always looks quite decent for them.

Frimpong is the only RB I'd swap him for, if he's not gettable then I'm happy for Dalot to remain as our first choice RB for a couple more years.

A top top right back. People who don't recognize this just don't know what the feck they are looking at and can't separate an individual from a team

Frimpong isn't a patch on Dalot man. He basically plays as a winger in the Bundesliga, he could not play like Dalot in the prem

I think full back is very weak at the minute but I wouldn't swap him for anyone at right back. He is physical and aggressive enough to play on the back foot and technical enough to play going forward. Proper player.

Fantastic player and hands down the player of the season. He has been consistent all season with just a few in-game mistakes here and there and the odd bad performance. Only Mainoo, who came in mid season, has had a similar level of consistency. All other players have had long stretches of terrible performances. A huge credit to him and management for his fantastic improvement.

Outstanding season from him and finally looks to be a top player. Long may this continue!

Been singing his praises all season! So happy for him yesterday!

Absolutely our number 1 RB, maybe even vice captain soon?

Completely neutralized Silva or anyone that he encountered on his side. Brilliant individual season and it has been crucial for us that he can do the inverted full back role on both sides of the pitch. Undoubtedly one of the best right backs across Europe this season.

I don't watch much football apart from United but has he been in the top 3 RB's of the league this season? Because i have a feeling he might have even been in the top 3 of the world this season too.

I can't think of many RB's that were better than him even if they were more succesful for example Walker.

Who had better seasons than him in the world?

Apart from Frimpong at Leverkusen I cant really name anyone else.

I say this because i dont see our 'next RB' because i think buying Frimpong wouldnt lead to dropping Dalot to the bench or competing because it wouldn't surprise me if Dalot was simply the better RB player in this league.

Who can we get that is better than him?

Even TAA arguably had a quieter year than normal.

I think Dalot is good enough to be our number 1 and Frimpong wouldn't be a back up type of signing. Wan Bissaka is good enough as a back up RB for me and we need to focus on the left fullback role more.

Dalot looks just as magnificent or even sometimes better at LB aswell which is crazy.

I don't know about Europe but certainly top 3 in the prem.

Was very good from New Year onwards, has added assists to his game and this period was the most consistent in his United career.

When you add that to his ability to stay fit, he was arguably our player of the year.

@AltiUn I believe it was you who I had a (pleasant) exchange with earlier in the season about Dalot's performances. Has your opinion altered on him at all?
Yes, he’s better than Wan-Bissaka and one of our better players in general

Good article in the Athletic if anyone can post it. All about his brilliant attitude and how he looks after himself, learning from Maldini, Ronaldo etc. Only missed 2 games all season, one he was suspended and the other on the opening day when AWB was preferred. Superb record with everyone else dropping like flies, so whatever he's doing is obviously working. Interesting I thought that it says he always weighs his own food and that others think it's a bit freaky. I can imagine Luke Shaw looking on in disgust

There aren't many RBs I'd trade him for outside of a fit Reece James. Walker is great but old. Funnily very few fans outside of United seem to rate him.

I'm glad he's kicked on as he always had a lot of the raw tools at a young age. It's a shame we've moved Alvaro Fernandez on (albeit with a buyback), as he's another whole has a lot of raw talent that if developed could make one hell of a LB.

The thing about dalot is how much of an all rounder he's become, there seems to be no deficiencies to his game anymore whether it be defensive, aerial ability, passing etc.

If he keeps it up and wins a few major trophies with us he'll go down as one of the greats of this generation.
