That'll blow up in our face if DDG leaves on a free in a few days. Every club in Europe will know we're desperate.
That’s his own business
Have to say, this worries me too. It's one of the reasons, if we get rid of the Glazers, I'd offer Villa a small fortune for MartinezAnybody actually watched him regularly?
I am not sold on Onana. The likes of Alisson and Ederson to me are really good keepers that are also excellent with the feet. Feel Onana is an average keeper that is excellent with his feet. Know Inter is a big club, but the way he plays with the ball at hsi ifeet worries me too...can he handle the pressure doign that at a huge club as I get Barthez vibes and lots of errors like the few ALisson has made at Liverpool.
We obviously need someone good with there feet, but there ar eplenty out there, dont see top keepers too though.....I hear Costs is quite commanding of his area, is he a top keeper forgetting the feet though as for me Onana isnt....is time for DeGea to go, but I fear if we sign Onana....it wont go well
ETH will always go with his man. Onana!!Portuguese fans raving about him. Big talent.
him or Onaha.
I don't think ever seen Costa outside of a "greatest hits" compilation. At least Onana has been around at a top(ish) level for a while. I wonder if anyone's thought of asking Big Pete for a recommendation... (other than his son, which, actually, wouldn't have surprised me a while back)Out of Costa and Onana - the latter is more proven at a higher stage already and guess we aren't that sold on Costa to be able to get better as much to be worth the big fee already.
Question is why not free last summerETH will always go with his man. Onana!!
Question is why not free last summer
Question is why not free last summer
So we haven't got any concerns with this guy seeing as some see Onana as modern day version of Barthez by the sounds of it
Wanted answering but seeing others have already done so. Onana deal was done in January long before ETH agreed a move to United.Question is why not free last summer

Onana agreed to join Inter months before we signed ETH.
I really hope this is sarcasm? This question has already been asked and answered so many times!
So they know he’s coming to England, they just don’t know where?
I think based on how things have gone down with Mount (being Erik's first choice), we'll go all out for Onana. It's you or us. Onana and Costa. We'll each get one but it sounds like we both want Onana more than Costa.

I think Costa will be very good, so it's not like you're getting a raw deal anyway. I wouldn't sleep about losing one over the other in our position.Yep sounds like it. Similar to Lukaku vs Morata. You'll get your first choice and we'll get the other guy. I prefer Onana but I would love Costa too.
Anybody actually watched him regularly?

I don't think even City fans would say Ederson is a really good keeper
At worst I think Onana is as good as a keeper as Ederson i.e very average and with the same excellent on the ball skills. That alone is a massive upgrade. We don't necessarily need an elite shot stopper if one can have an average-to-good box presence, can sweep well and then give us another dimension on the ball.
Though I think excluding kicking, Alisson is the better GK, Ederson certainly isnt average, he is very good, though has the odd shaky soekk, far better than Onana I think anyway.
May be totally wrong but I didnt see Onana mentioned barely at all on here as a DeGea replacement until Inter got deep in the CL, pretty much the semis and after our subsequent links.
I dont think Onana is a bad keeper and though taking away the modern day kicking part of the game, I dont see an available bona fide cert, Costa is pretty much the only one I see mentioned a lot that I havent really seen at all (bar the world cup), so I am kind of hoping he is the answer....but either of these two we are looking at probably £50m+ and people forget, we probably need to sign another keeper as back up as well even if just a loan
There's two assumptions there which on the first one regarding Ederson, I'm sure there are stats basically confirming his stop stopping goal prevention stuff like positioning and 1vs1 etc is below average. As for Onana, considering you have admitted you haven't seen much, I think you probably need to watch some of his games or more highlights as you seem to be underrate him.
While we are struggling to find a keeper or decide whether to give de Gea a new contract, it seems pochettino chelsea is interested in one of the top five keeper in the world.
I thought we were interested before. I guess we don’t have budget for him.

I read that Porto are willing to listen to the £64m offer as they need to sell to balance book. Plus Mendes, is working to make this happen. The situation seems much more advance with Chelsea than when we were interested.I hate to break to you, but if you followed United more than you do Poch then you would have known that Porto quoted us more(his release clause of 75 mil euros) than Inter currently wants for Onana.
From your own article it states that Poch doesn't want to pay upfront... kind of like we did.
Absolutely nothing to do with Poch. They’ve sold Mendy which leaves them with Kepa. They need a new keeper just as much as United do. Wind your neck in.

If we weren't going to sign De Gea to a new contract, I don't understand why we didn't make Costa one of our priority signing
Seems like we don't have the budget for onana and we are looking at Robert Sanchez or that feyenoord goalkeeper. It seems we are underestimating the importance of a quality keeper. I rather we start selling some of our players to fund the signing of onana or Costa, not Sanchez or that feyenoord keeperProvided we get him or Onana then will be fine

There's close to zero chance we're genuinely chasing Robert Sanchez or Bijlow. They've zoned in on Onana and are trying to exert some leverage on Inter who they know need cash.Seems like we don't have the budget for onana and we are looking at Robert Sanchez or that feyenoord goalkeeper. I don’t buy it, clickbait based on another poor resulthttps://thehardtackle.com/transfer-news/2023/09/20/manchester-united-eyeing-diogo-costa-as-andre-onana-replacement/#:~:text=United decided against renewing De,Diogo Costa from FC Porto.
Could you imagine spending another €70m on a new goalkeeper already
I doubt it's true but we could well end up at that stage before long.
