How old are you? Because I could possibly understand this opinion if you'd watched it originally when it came out (in '88) but I'm pretty sure you're far too young.
Anyway, regardless of your age, it's mint. And if you were watching it looking for subtle nuanced performances then you're barking up the wrong tree.

One of the better films of the 80s.
I'd say Aliens is the only film that beats it as far as action films go, but its very close.
