Did he really play for them?

Since Carroll, Goram & Kuszczak is already mentioned, this fellow definitely deserves a shout.

Made the team, played 4 games, gone.

I'm sure a lot of you remember this: (go to 1:40)

It's also worth mentioning that the next time he played, we lost 0-5. After 4 games he had conceded 11 goals.

To be fair, he also had a great game against Liverpool.

Didn’t Robert Pires play for Villa for a season? David Ginola did too.

Wasn't that when John Gregory called him fat? Then he scored and pulled off his shirt flexing his ripped torso!

Julio Alberto playing in The Maldives. He played for Barcelona during his hey days.

Juninho and ravanelli at boro was one of the most memorable stints of their careers.

One of the most forgettable players ever.

Honestly, I only remembered he played for us because I got a message on Football Manager (managing United) saying that Everton owed us money because he'd made a landmark appearance. I sat there for a few seconds trying to work out what that had to do with United.

I shouldn't be surprised though, there were some games he played for us where, at some point in the second half, the commentator would say his name, and I'd just go "bloody hell, he's playing?!"

And we were so fecking giddy when we got him. That Schneiderlin-Schweinsteiger weekend was one of the high points of Van Gaal's tenure - and both turned out to be, well, rubbish.

I was reading something about Darron Gibson this morning, and it mentioned that agreement we had with Royal Antwerp some years ago, which I'd forgotten about, and this guy was mentioned.

I knew Ebanks-Blake came through the academy. I didn't realise (or had somehow completely forgotten) he actually made a couple of league cup appearances for us. And even scored. I guess watching those league cup ties against lower league clubs was a bit harder pre-streaming.

He was one of those players who tore up the Championship, but looked lost in the Premier League, of which they are many.

He's now playing in the 7th tier of English football, in the Southern League Central Division for Halesowen Town. Looks like he doesn't play very often though. He's only 32.

This one is literally still happening and I still forget.

Manchester United and Everton legend, Loris Karius

Could probably do a whole thread of these for Real Madrid alone:

Javier Hernandez
Fabinho
Denis Cheryshev
Nuri Sahin
Hamit Altintop
Emmanuel Adebayor
Jerzy Dudek
Royston Drenthe
Christoph Metzelder
Marcos Alonso (Also played for Bolton)
Julien Faubert
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
Julio Baptista
Antonio Cassano
Juan Mata
Jonathan Woodgate
Thomas Gravesen

Rivaldo at Deportivo
(Big sum back then, then went to Barca and became a superstar)

Also: RIVALDO WAS A GREAT PLAYER BUT A DIFFICULT PERSONALITY. HE CLASHED WITH LVG BECAUSE HE WAS SHIFTED TO THE WING

Madrid went through a stage for a few years where they just made the weirdest signings possible. From about 2004-2008 they signed so many shit players, despite the fact they were well known to be shit. Sorted themselves out the following summer though.
